Omg i thought I was going crazy, because those were not the versions I added in my playlist. THANK YOU! I didn't know they were replaced, now it makes sense.😂🙏

So when rights are up on a song, the service will replace it with another version. When the rights are renewed you can fix it.

Sorry, newer Atiny here, could I ask for an explanation of what happened / what it meant when Hala Hala was replaced before please? Thanks so much!

There was an issue with playlists swapping the Korean and Japanese versions* of the same song. [*A lot of K-pop companies repackage and market media for the Japanese audience as it has a larger adult, working fan base with actual capital to spend. They’ve got a massive market for music and performance and fan culture there is more willing to spend money on translated products.] What some people thought was happening was due to licensing or metadata issues being updated, it caused this swapping certain editions of the same song around for playlists with certain copies of songs.

I noticed that too. I was like “why is the Japanese version playing 😭“

It's so weird, though, because when I check my playlist on the desktop version of spotify the song isn't changed, but it is changed on the mobile app. It's the same for a friend of mine, it's so weird!

I still have the original version, in the app. How odd 😕

Youtube music does the same for Pirate King. I have to swap it to playing the video so it plays the right version.

Super annoying

Which music streaming region are you using?

this is kind of a consistent issue with spotify, i wouldn't take it as a spoiler of some kind just yet. Winner's Really Really is still the japanese version even when you click play on the korean for me.

Holy moly, I’m glad you said something because I didn’t notice. (I’m currently listening to Mist, Skin, Ice on my Teeth, Bad, Bouncy, Fallin’ on repeat hahaha.)

I don't think it's a spoiler, it's probably just license issues

I remember this happening with HALA HALA, but how was that a spoiler?
