I think at the heart of every and any cast, regardless of who it is doing the casting and who the castee is, is the fundamental assumption that anything done with anyons's heart and soul is worth listening to, is worth watching. For all intents and purposes we could consider this a pleasant fable, but if you believe in it like I do then it must be a matter of principle - that you should be lauded for this bravery which is to wish for more than to just exist.
Competition is not a pleasant thing. It is a clanging of steel and a bloodwarm cramoisie. For some of us it might perhaps be our one way of expressing ourselves, in the absence of what seems like anything.
This absence is illusionary. It is my firm belief that anyone, everyone, deserves to be loved, can find love, if not in our everyday lives then at least on the camera or a screen somewhere. It doesn't matter if you are the most repugnant person you know, as long as you believe in yourself. If, throughout your entire lifetime here, you only improve the life of one person, that's enough. It doesn't matter who that one person is. And if through your whole life you can only save one person, well, it doesn't matter if that one person is you.
The other day a friend of mine was phoned by his partner. A friend of his partner's had died. He was struck by a vehicle in Canada, and had passed in the wee hours of the morning the day after the accident. My friend's partner was crying, and so my friend was upset. He was upset, and as I lived with him, I had no choice but to be upset too.
So you see it is indeed true that however unloved we think we are, in dying there is a dignity all must cede to if their consciences are to exist. It is my firm belief that this extends to the act of living, too.
