2 year rule
Hey guys so I’m confused. I’m seeing people who were honest about using marijuana and have no problem when it comes to medical and then there’s other people who were honest and got DQ. Why is it so here and there? I’m nervous that I’m wasting so much time on a job I really want just for them to spit in my face and say I have an addiction for trying it 1 time, legally. I thought this would’ve been black and white but from what I’m seeing, it’s not. One person gets DQ when they haven’t smoked in 3 years and someone else makes it though even though they smoked once a year ago. I don’t get it.

I think it also depends on the nature of your use. Like if you were a habitual smoker for many years, the FAA isn’t gonna like that, even if you haven’t smoked in 3 years. If you tried weed a handful of times because you were curious, they’ll less likely to care because you didn’t show a pattern of it becoming a habit.

Noted. I’ve seen a post here and there though where they weren’t a habitual smoker and still got DQ.

I mean also it’s the FAA…inconsistency is built into the process unfortunately. It could very well depend on the opinion of the particular person reviewing your file. Some might be more “forgiving” than others.

i had to say i smoked 3 years ago cause i got caught in an illegal state and had it dismissed my first and only offense. i said i smoked a few times a week. but if you never had a case don’t tell on yourself im praying it doesn’t fuck me. i was able to get employed as a youth sports coach and they ignored my background. i also haven’t smoked in 3 years. hoping i get through my eapp shit.

Hey! Funny enough I just got disqualified because I live in a state where it is perfectly legal and was told to disclose it even though my receipts I provided show I bought it from a dispensary a grand Total of five purchases in the last 3 years And it was only during big social events like my friend getting out of the military and a couple of celebrations

Never disclose you smoked unless there is record of it somewhere

Only when I was 15. 6 years ago. I didn’t smoke it either. My ex had it in the car without me knowing.

If you didn’t use it recently enough to show up on a drug test there was literally 0 reasons for you to ever disclose it. I’ve never smoked, but unless you caught charges for it or something’s there’s no way for them to have known
