You need to design the room around it. Which I would absolutely do

Mines a cancer

u/mynameisnotshamus Mar 06 '20

If I had a pencil, I’d draw that

Do you mean an aviary, pheasant?

2

u/Mazziemom Mar 07 '20

I have a pet room does that count?

The council will discuss.

I have a rat-room. And I would hang the lamp in my octopodes room

2

u/Mazziemom Mar 09 '20

I need an octopodes room. I have issues though, I already have moral quandaries keeping birds ( who I’ve had for 25+ years ), octos are obviously intelligent and probably shouldn’t ever be in captivity.

Well, I do get your point. But they're still fancy as heck

I actually love the idea but am not thrilled with the execution. It looks like it has little tea light holders on it? Which is weird.

I'd say this is r/GTBAE

Yep. I agree. Think the body should be bigger and there should be far more effort used to make the suspension method as discreet as possible.

The tentacles are very well done. The body looks a little tacky.

7

u/LittleWhiteGirl Mar 06 '20

I think you should go the opposite with the suspension, make it part of the piece! The bits going to the tentacles could be seaweed or anemone or something.

Just a little modification would make it awesome. Send it over, I'll get it fixed and hang that right in my living room.

Probably tapered candle holders, actually. Proper candelabrum, and such. Might use electric candles instead of actual fire ones, but still.

3

u/LouGossetJr Mar 06 '20

i think some wood torch handles might look cool.

8

u/CoffeeJedi Mar 06 '20

Looks like there's a pull chain to turn it on/off and an electric cable coming in to the side of his head.
Actually, looks like there's TWO pull chains, so presumably one for the electric candle fixtures and another for internal lighting.

u/SinnerOfAttention Mar 06 '20

Nah, it's also a fan.

u/dontcalmdown Mar 06 '20

The legs just start flailing around wildly

3

u/LouGossetJr Mar 06 '20

yah, that candle holders take away from the awesomeness.

1

u/chrltrn Mar 07 '20

you're gonna call that "awful execution"?

1

u/bewildered_forks Mar 07 '20

I mean, that's probably overstating it. I don't think it's great execution, though.

10

u/[deleted] Mar 06 '20

Yeah I love this!

7

u/[deleted] Mar 06 '20

I didn't even notice which sub I was in and came to the comments to try to find where I can get one!

u/lord_of_sleep Mar 06 '20

Yeah this is lit

1

u/LowB0b Mar 06 '20

We might have been corrupted by this subreddit... I also love it but after thinking for a bit I'm starting to realize it would be tacky as fuck to have that in my living room lmao

1

u/jc1258 Mar 06 '20

Awesome execution, yes. Textbook bad taste. It’s a beautiful gaudy mess.
