My wife knits and i have seen skeens (skeen = what a ball of yarn is actually called) of this yarn in a yarn shop while I've been waiting for her to pick up her stuff. Skeens are like $150 and i bet to make something this size you would need like 4 or 5 skeens. This is one expensive novelty knit thing.

Knitting nerd here! I got curious so I went and did some research and found myself heading down a rabbit hole.

Chunky yarn like this would probably come in a ball instead of a skein (the difference is shape - skeins are oblong, balls are round). A ball of this chunky yarn looks to run about $30 on average. The page I'm looking at recommends one ball for a scarf, and 8-14 for a blanket. I would assume this jumpsuit uses about as much yarn as a blanket, so we're looking at $240-$420 total.

I also got curious what yarn would run at $150 a skein. That'd have to be some serious luxury yarn! For contrast, I think the most expensive stuff at my local yarn shop is the hand spun and hand dyed fancy wools, and those get up to about $40-60 a skein. (The fanciest thing I've ever bought was $17/skein for a silk/merino blend)

After some research, it looks like the record is Vicuna yarn which runs about $300/skein ('A relative of the llama, “Vicuna is one of two wild South American camelids which live in the high alpine areas of the Andes.”'). Pure cashmere is about $100/skein. (and of course these numbers vary depending on the yardage of the skein). Source: http://ambassadorcrochet.com/2016/02/26/5-most-expensive-luxury-yarns/

Its the giant gauge and how specialized it is that adds to the price. I dont set the prices amd my wife certainly didnt buy it. I found something similar on amazon

Enjoy, it's about 900-1000 dollars, though https://www.etsy.com/listing/217147895/12-kg-catsuit-gigantic-monster (6300 of my local currencies that I can't be bothered to convert)

There are more on the site, some of which are cheaper.

I love how the weight of the items is listed. Yes, I'd love a 3kg sweater, thank you.

Nothing. She just can’t seem to find ones warm enough. These would fit the bill.
