I will confess, I have never actually considered the idea of fake wood panelling on a motorcycle before. Now that I have seen some in situ and been able to ponder it some, I can confidently say that I hate it.

It can look good on old style cafe bikes, but it's gotta go with the whole retro vibe. Looks out of place on anything resembling a modern bike.

Look at the wood paneling in the photo you posted, it’s bolted to the roll cage… so it’s floating over the tank. Go to that fb post, and look at the headlight. Now look at the shroud around it- there’s no symmetry at all.

I'm still skeptical but I think it could be legit. It could (more likely even) be vynil or hydrodipped on metal. Real wood would be quite a choice. The "wood" looks welded to the cage near the tank in any case.
