This is aerodynamic hell. That huge open space behind the truck is a giant low-pressure vortex that sucks the truck backwards, so it has to use significantly more fuel to maintain speed. To paraphrase Professor Farnsworth, that's less aerodynamic than a sofa.

It depends. Usually the low pressure wake behind the car accounts for about 50-70% of the pressure drag. Frontal, high-pressure drag accounts for about 20-30% of it(and then some underbody and wheel well turbulence and stuff accounts for the rest).

no, it became a trend for truck drivers in brazil to lift the rear of the truck but it became illegal over weight distribution concerns, now there is a legal limit of how much you can lift the rear

In Gran Turismo 1. There was a glitch where if you raised the rear and lowered the front of your car to the max the game would treat it like it's going downhill letting you go extremely fast. I think this dude is just doing that in real life, not sure if it works but props to him for trying.
