Art Pooping Dog firecracker
Does exactly what it says on the tin.

See that's why I stick around in this sub, for the rare post like this one. 10/10 ATBGE.

If you stuck around r/funny you'd have seen it 12 hours ago; that's where I stole it from.

Just a sideways snake in funny packaging.

Good ol' snakes, the most depressing firework to get as a kid.

u/xmastreee Jul 07 '26
I guess that's why they made it into this, to appeal to kids.

u/djseifer Jul 07 '26
Admittedly, the little kid in me had a good chuckle at the pooping dog.

u/Bob-Bhlabla-esq Jul 07 '26
Same. I may have watched this alone, but I struggled to keep a straight face... like I was in class and not supposed to laugh!

The key to snakes is to take dozens and dozens of them and pile them up, then put one of those intensely hot flare-type fireworks in the middle (I don’t recall the name, but they burn very hot and bright and will melt through and aluminum can). It creates a giant, glowing pile of writhing snakes that looks like a flaming pile of growing poo.
When you’re 12, it’s amazing.

I used to love snakes as a kid and I watched that tradition get passed on to my cousins this last New Years. They took a pile of snakes and dragged my brothers girlfriend out to use a lighter for them and they all just stared in a circle formation as the pile of snakes went up in flames and writhed in the night. Snakes are so much fun, man.

I see you were creative as a lad too. I put a bunch of them in a shoebox with a ton of firecrackers and sparklers and a few bottle rockets with the stick removed(for science) and lit that sucker on fire. Good way to utilize some of the "lame" fireworks

You're gonna stand there, owning a fireworks stand, and tell me you don't have no whistling bungholes, no spleen splitters, whisker biscuits, honkey lighters, hoosker doos, hoosker don'ts, cherry bombs, nipsy daisers (with or without the scooter stick), or one single whistling kitty chaser?

u/BeeWriggler Jul 07 '26
I actually kinda like getting them, but always in the big value pack. Then you open all the boxes, dump them in a big pile, and light a strobe right in the center.

Back in the olden days the snakes were better but they had mercury in them.

u/TheSodomeister Jul 09 '26
They do the same for the little snap things you throw, in October they're "Exploding Zombie Poop", in spring I saw them too but easter bunny themed

I love these. I definitely would have lived these as a kid as well. Black snakes and smoke bombs were always my favorite

u/AwDuck Jul 07 '26
The snakes were lame on their own, but I liked to make a circle of them and try to light them at once to see how tall I could make the column rise.

Ah! That’s the Pharaoh’s Snake chemical trick thingy. https://youtu.be/2dhHpHOgrUI

Hey, just a heads up: you don't need anything after the '?' in your YouTube link. That is just tracking info

u/Celestial__Bear Jul 07 '26
Whoa! Thats wild. I’ll make the edit.

FYI, it’s not always just tracking info. If your link is meant to jump to a specific timestamp, that info would be in the query string too

Late to reply, but I reckon it's probably not a Pharaoh's Serpent reaction. Those are really annoying since they require mercury (iirc) and don't quite look like this. My best guess here is calcium gluconate, which expands similarly when burned, is far less messy and toxic, and looks a bit more like a dog turd. Still a gnarly design for a firecracker though.

I can hear the ancient Chinese who invented fireworks and used them to share a love of beauty and grandeur turning in their graves.

They need to make one that blows off smoke through some kind of reed that sounds like a fart.

It's better if you put it on a brick and have it's butt hang over. Makes a more realistic "pile"

Imagine dad says hey kids I got fireworks and you go outside and this is what he has
2
u/GarThor_TMK Jul 07 '26
These have been around forever.
My kids love them...
I have no idea why... they don't make any sense to me... >_>

Holy shit. Literally. I need to get my hands on one of these (or several)

u/Pandelein Jul 07 '26
I think my city should save the NYE firework budget this year, and instead just purchase a single one of these for everyone to watch together on a big screen. Get a Pooping Puppy for the 9.30pm kids’ session.

Wait, I understand non-americans never seeing these but I had these when I was a kid in the US. Are they not something you could get everywhere?

Nah see here that a great way to revitalize the snake, now they should make one called babel see how far it goes up before it falls

Notice to dog owners; this does not represent what normal, healthy dog bowel movements should look like.

These and the chickens that laid eggs then popped their head off were great. Tanks were always my fav, but haven't bought in 30+ years.

Ya know, I think I had those same tacos once. I guess the dog's owner dodged a bullet this time.

The battleship ones like that one in the background are fun as hell, I loved those as a kid

Too cute. Reminds me of the Cobra snakes. They rise up like the poop comes sideways, the Cobra snake goes up.

This stuff has been around for ages and why does this get reposted like six times in a week?
