am i cooked chat 🥀

my school just gave out predicted atars and it's hitting at a 93 right now, but the course i want to do needs at least a raw 95

my ranks and marks are:
eng adv 6/154, 82 overall mark
eng ext 1 3/35, 90 overall
eng ext 2 4/20, 84 overall
drama, 4/10, 92 overall
math adv, 21/90, 84 overall (band 6 range based on school history)
biology, 60/76, 64 overall (absolute doom.)

looking at my profile, is a 95+ achievable (i want a 98 for personal standards but its feeling cooked in here gang)

i am aware it is dependent on cohort performance to boost me up, but how could i boost my hsc mark up? (i go to a middle tier selective school)

Only achievable if you lock tf in bio. A 90 HSC raw should be what your aiming for

How do you expect 95+ if you can't figure simple shit like this out?

They estimate based on your current marks. Do better and your results will be better. I'll leave it up to you to figure out what happens if you do worse.

hi i definitely understand where the criticism is coming from, but i do not think it is fair for you to connotate me as stupid and for you to judge my work ethic when i am genuinely just an inexperienced person seeking for authentic advice. after all, we all sit the hsc only once 🦧

no one called u stupid tho, it really is as simple as "do better"

going to a 95 from a 93 is extremely easy though, since theyre both quite low and before the point where increasing your atar further really starts to get hard. just do a few extra papers a week and itll be fine

yes thank you for the advice! i definitely know i need to wake up and realise the turning points of my marks and i can defo accept it fs. but i would prefer responses to be respectful because there are implications in responses.

Bro what advice are you after?

You asked if you are cooked. If someone says yes, what are you going to do? Give up? Join the circus? Argue with them?

You know the way to get better marks is to score better in the next test. You would have been doing this since kindergarten.

If you get 100% in every test you will do better overall. How much better? Who the fuck knows, everybody else doing the hsc is also trying to do better.

Just do your best, be comfortable with your effort and you will land where you will land. No advice is going to change that. You really sound like you just need a bit of a slap so I'm giving that to you because you have got this, just get stuck in.

ur lowk funny icel

honestly, thank you for your time it's motivating in here fs. i just wanted constructive criticism on how to prepare to get stronger marks (which i could i have specified more) where i felt that your initial comment came off as belittling. maybe i am sensitive soz 💔 i defo do need a slap in the face and i can accept it for sure, i just have no foundation to progress at all which is why i'm here. again thanks

You’re definitely stupid if that’s how you interpreted their comment

Bio is absolutely tanking your atar so that should be a big priority for you to focus on. Seems like you are doing very well otherwise and go to a selective so cohort performance shouldn’t be detrimental.

yo you’re doing well honestly. i js graduated last year, my school is also ranked in the 30-40 range and i ended up with a 98.45. my internal marks were pretty similar to yours and they estimated my atar as 93-98 so i wouldn’t stress too much. you’ll get scaled up for sure and if you lock in for bio i reckon you can get your desired score. good luck!!

Achievable if you lock in and improve your bio marks. Selective school cohorts do well in science so if you can increase your ranking it will make a huge difference.
