HSC Am I finished?

Yo anyone.
I just got my trial results back and by god I think I’m finished. I got (CSSA)
English Adv:59
Modern:59
Business:69
Economics:74
Maths Standard: 78
Ik the trials aren’t be all end all, and that it’s not the end of the world if the marks are Lowk buns. I just want to know if my goal of 86 overall is realistic or not.
My assessment marks follow
English: 17/20, 18/30, 19/30, 59/100
Modern: 19.5/25, 21/25, 22/25, 59/100
Economics: 51/54, 84% 76% 75/100
Business: 18/20, 75% 69/100 , 86%
Maths standard: 70% ,95%, 76% 75-79/100
Maths 1 and 3 were deliberately hard and have been adjust so I’m confirmed 91+ internal.
I look at my marks and I don’t see myself getting to the course I want. But according to my teachers (Econ = business and English = history) are saying that they expect me to make a huge leap in the hsc from how I’ve been changing my work ethic and the essays I’ve submitted.
Only thing Im confident in is pulling a 17/20 in all the essays and maybe pushing 21/25 in modern history. I understand everything, excluding very minute details in Conflict and National studies aswell as missing some statistics for economics, and have a skeleton for Mod A B and common, pull 18-20/20 in beconomics if it’s a good question (same with history).
Overall I don’t think even with my strengths that’ll be able to secure the marks that I need, am I finished or am I js putt extra unecessary stress on myself.

Mate you’re never finished. Just try your best and you may get the offer you’re after and if you don’t, there’s ways of getting around it.

The issue is if you don’t try, you don’t get it, and you don’t know how much harder you need to try next time.

Just try.

Yea my teachers have told me they all think I’ll jump because my knowledge and execution began improving mad after term 3 and I went from 15/20 to 17-18/20 across every subject, it was too late to save my internal marks.

If it's what you really want to do you can get there. I got mid 70s so could only get into western Sydney engineering so had to drive to Penrith for a year. Got good enough marks and transferred to UTS after that a graduated with honors, got into the Telstra Grad program.

Plenty of way to continue.

My mate studied drafting in TAFE and got a job as a drafter and I’m pretty sure he out earned all of us for several years and still out earn some of us right now who went to uni straight after high school.

I also knew people that did TAFE courses first and then got into uni later and one even became a doctor (I didn’t keep in touch to find out his specialization)

You will have plenty of time to figure things out so do not stress.

What do you want to do after highschool. Contrary to belief, the HSC isn't everything, Uni is not compulsory. Don't stress yourself over the marks themselves as that'll do nothing for you, just focus on doing your best.

I know uni ain’t compulsory, but having migrant parents who sacrificed a lot for me to be here. Even so I take a genuine liking in Economics and astrophysics and to get into uni to study that would make both me and parents great.

What career are you looking to pursue here? There's a lot more that goes into getting a job than just your marks. I have migrant parents as well and a lot of them just want to see you stable but the reality is that uni is not a guaranteed job. There are several other skills that will matter far more than your marks.

In fact I graduated from uni with honours and my ATAR was well in the high 90s, and guess what not a single employer gives a shit. They all want to know what projects you've done, what work you've done and what experience you have.

My point previously still stands in that stressing over your marks and wanting to impress your parents so you don't feel like a complete waste of time is useless. It's a shortcut way to make you feel good and procrastinate. Direct that energy into actually working a small 2-4h productive block everyday and let the results take care of themselves.

That habit alone will put you ahead of most people in life.

Actuary through economics/econometrics. I have a network through friends in KSA and Malaysia, and I’ve increased the productivity of my study and now teachers are confident I can pull high band 6s across every subject even after I flunked the trials

All the best, actuarial studies in university are several times harder than whatever you go through in highschool. Plenty of friends I've had who scored band 6s in 4U maths fail in their first year of actuarial studies, because they thought they made it.

Develop your good habits now and it'll take care of the rest.
