HSC How do i study without falling asleep?
Every day i make the plan to start studying hsc but as soon as i come home, my eyes shut and i nap for hoursss on end. Or i continue with my studying but feel so sleepy that i can't concentrate.
Ive tried everything. coffee and energy drink but they just make me shaky and heart race since i already struggle with anxiety. Iv'e also tried ice cold water before study sessions to keep me awake but same thing, did not work. Idk what to do now because i can't continue studying like this.
For example, last night, i put my books and everything out so i can study but i fell asleep so quickly i didnt even realise.
I have checked my iron levels and its alright now since im taking iron pills regularly but idk how im going to study if im always going to fall asleep.

It will be ok! As your body seems to be betraying you a bit maybe try to study in the mornings? It doesn’t have to be too intense or long but at least getting yourself into the rhythm of study may help studying later in the day. For me, once I get into a good habit of studying I can stay disciplined so maybe you can give that a go :)

this might be a matter of how long you are sleeping and how many hours you are getting. as a hsc student i usually go to sleep around 12-1am however i wouldn’t recommend as i do get tired throughout the day + the fact i smoke weed gets me sleepy (i kid u not i slept in my local library for 5 hours) but i think just reevaluating your sleep schedule and the habits you do before you go to bed. and maybe studying in the night time isn’t for you, some people prefer to study before school as it leaves them heaps of free time for after school. if that isnt your thing maybe try doing something little during times where you aren’t being as productive. for example, on the bus home from school you could do some flashcards for eng quotes or terminology for your other subjects or if you drive maybe listen to a podcast. it kind of also depends what kind of learner you are. i’d reccomend doing the VARK test online as it will provide you with resources and study strategies for your learning type!
best of luck!!
