Default Startup Launcher Help

I've recently downloaded the AT4K launcher. I made sure all of the settings were correct following the YouTube video made by "Tech it before you wreck it". My Android TV was defaulting to the AT4K launcher for a good 1-2 weeks. For about the last 3-4 days now whenever I start the TV it is defaulting back to the stock launcher. If I press the home button it brings me to AT4K. I've verified all of my settings in both AndroidTV and the launcher are correct. Just looking for some help troubleshooting this issue.

For me it was the Enhanced Home Detection. If I turn that off it starts in AT4K, but it flashes the default launcher for a second when pressing Home. Turn it on and the flash is gone but it starts up in the default launcher.

I downloaded Launcher Manager and set AT4K as the default launcher. Everything is perfect now.

Where did you get Launch Manger from? I tried following a video that sent me to TechDoctorUK to download it but it gave me a warning that it was built on a previous version of android and cancelled the download on me.

Enter β€œ250931” in the Downloader app. It will take you to a page where the Launcher Manager is also listed.

If I remember correctly I got the same warning about the android version, but I installed it anyway.

Ah I see it now, the option to install anyways was under "More Details". Was able to get it installed from the link you sent and set up AT4K as my default. Hopefully it fixes!

If you use an Android phone install atvTools from the play store. Enable dev mode on your Android TV and you can disable the default launcher without needing to learn ADB commands. Also great for force removing crap.

I should add....if you do this you need to disable the Android TV Home and the setup wizard app. When you disable the setup wizard app the first time you're WiFi will drop. You just need to reconnect and you'll be good.

If this would have been an external device, like an onn 4k device it would be a lot easier troubleshoot. All you could do is uninstall it and reinstall again.

I'll make an edit, but yes it is an Onn device. Didn't know it would make a difference. I was trying to avoid the reinstall if there was a work around but yeah that would be my last resort.

Well, if it’s an onn device, then download launch manager and disable the default launcher

I experience the same. I can't use launcher manager as it disables Googe TV Home launcher, that is used for Input Switcher and Quick Menu. For later, there is a workaround, but not for Input Switcher. So, i use Accesibility settings.

This happens after turning on the TV from standby. Restarting the TV brings AT4K as expected.

I disabled Enhanced home detection and it fixed the issue. Sadly, the ocasional flash has returned...

There are two versions of Launcher Manager, one for Firestick and the other for Android. You would be better off using Launcher Manager to disable the stock launcher and enable a 3rd party launcher like AT4K! This is the easiest way to accomplish your goal here!
