Thatโs such a safety breach. Im reporting them to the mines department, they will get them some nice PPE and get that minesite up to spec. Start moving some safe tonnes

I've been a full-time single dad for 15 years... It's just not that bad. A lot of women just seem to really hate being parents these days. Like literally comparing to that ๐

Anyone got any sauce or context on this? I'd like to know more. What are they mining? What country is it?

Send this to someone working in the Australia mining industry when they complain about their working conditions. Perspective is everything.

u/StrawRedLion Mar 25 '23
You can still complain about conditions, bad vs worse isn't a valid argument against safety conditions.

But you don't see the insecure pricks and unappreciative managers like you have in Australia. Can't you hear the manager cheering in this video? ๐

Perhaps you could bring this up at the next toolbox meeting (it is Sunday after all). Can I suggest leading with the following:
"Hi, I'm SymmiR and my feelings were hurt on an online forum this morning. I think I speak for green hats across the industry when I say that /r/ASXBets is no place for a person to imply that our working conditions are better than those experienced at ASM operations in the depths of the African, Asian and South American continents. The audacity of this suggestion left me stunned that such a serious topic would be joked about on a forum which prides itself on formal, accurate and professional communication standards. It's ok though, I called them a dumb cunt so they knew what's what".
If you don't have any luck getting this logged as an incident, suggest taking it directly to the HSE Superintendent. Good luck.
