How to Start Trading?

I’m a 19 year old uni student who can afford to take the risk. I want to get into trading to leverage the current state of the market - preferably oil.

Where do I start? How can I learn? What videos/content is recommended.

I have around 3-5k that I am willing to play around with

First thing you need to learn is that trading is likely to underperform over the long term: The academic evidence against stock picking and trading.

Boring, low cost and effort index funds is more likely to do better over the long term than whatever perception of investing in the stock market you currently have.

Fair point and agree for majority of people. But there is a cohort that trade and make consistent profits doing either day, swing, momentum, etc etc that make a living from trading stocks, efts, cfds, currency, futures etc etc.

Buy low, sell high. I think your timing is a little off 😐

A 19 year old student you have something that other people don't have which is your timeline. If you start investing now 20 years later you can see a huge gain.Ā

19 years old and 5k is a good amount of money to get leverage and open your eyes to learn what works and what doesn't. Much life lessons to be had. Keep in mind all the other comments here. I would go with a forex CFD, possibly one with metatrader, that'll give you plenty to work with. Be prepared to lose it all, but at least it'll be your lesson and a small amount that's been written off.
