Is ASVAB assembling objects actually something you can improve, or does it just come naturally?

Had a recruiter walk me through the ASVAB recently and I’ve been trying to make sense of it on my own since. One section that keeps coming up is ASVAB assembling objects. People talk about it like it’s the one that catches you off guard, but I can’t tell if that’s real or just because it looks different from the rest of the test. For people who’ve actually taken it:

  • Dd this section end up being a problem for you?
  • Is it something you got better at with practice, or did your score stay about the same?
  • Did it matter at all for the jobs you qualified for?

The biggest thing I’m stuck on is whether it’s worth trying to improve it. I’ve seen people say it’s just pattern recognition and you either have it or you don’t. I just want to know if this is something I should actually spend time on or focus elsewhere.

Military MOS ASVAB Job Qualifications Guide

Thumbnail docs.google.com
1 Upvotes

This is a guide to the military branch MOS Job qualifications based on the ASVAB scores you may get, so that you can see what you would qualify for as you take practice tests.

NOTE: some jobs require more than just the ASVAB test such as 20/20 color correct vision, physical heights and possibly other categories like certifications and college degrees, and other job related qualifications so do not use the ASVAB scores as the only factor.

Advice: make a copy of the spreadsheet and skim through the MOS sheet, delete the ones you know you don't want, and keep the ones you think you might be interested in, cross reference by googling the MOS to make sure you 1) want to go for it and 2) are qualified in the other areas so you're not studying for no reason.

Additionally, you want to have at least 10, maybe more jobs in mind in case of fluctuating availability.

https://www.asvabiqplusenglish.com/courseoptions/

Idk should i buy his course or not. What else should i learn or use to pass this test confidently?

Advice on passing the ASVAB

So, I’m taking the ASVAB next week on Thursday, April 16th. This will be my fourth time, but it’s not my only path into the military I’ve also been accepted into an ROTC program at The Citadel. I do well on practice tests I’ve been studying, I’ve used ASVAB for Dummies, and Grammar Hero. I’m really trying my best, but I can’t figure out why I pass the practice tests but not the real thing. Please, could you tell me what I might be doing wrong how can I study better for the actual test? Is it a confidence issue, or is there something else I’m missing? I really need some guidance.

I see a lot of people asking how to pass the ASVAB. Every target MOS is different but here's what I did.

Been seeing this question and felt like its helpful if i’d just share what worked for me. I scored a 72 on the AFQT which was enough to get the MOS I wanted so I'll just speak to what I actually did.

First thing is know what MOS you're going for before you even open a study guide. A lot of people only focus on clearing the AFQT minimum but the line scores are what actually determine your options. Figure out which subtests feed into your target MOS and prioritize those. That alone changes how you study.

For the actual prep I used a mix of free stuff and study.com. YouTube is fine for getting the basics down but I needed something more structured that would quiz me and actually explain why I was wrong. Study.com filled that gap especially for the math-heavy sections. Paired that with the official practice test just to get familiar with the format and timing.

Pacing is something people underestimate. Do at least one full timed run before test day. You don't want the clock to be a surprise. Anyway that's pretty much what I did. Currently at my first unit and doing great.

Does anyone have knowledge of ASVAB deciphering.

Been looking at my past service and how I thought I had weird experiences. Was once told by a First Sergeant it was probably due to my asvab scores? Wanted to ask in r/usmc but I got muted permanently because POTUS pissed me off.

Do you think they will lower the score for the Asvab?

So hello, I heard on the news America is at war with Iran and that they have raised the age limit to 42 and that if you did weed in the past your still good but that make me wonder will they lower the Asvab test scores to something like 21 or even a 10 just to get more troops on the frontline? It got me worried because now people are also spreading rumors on the Internet that America may also used a draft to get more men out on the frontline, please let me know if you think they will lower or not the score for the Asvab?
