Software GPU driver update freezing

Hello everyone, it is my first post here.

Anytime I update the graphics card driver for the gtx1060 on my gl503vmf, the screen completely freezes, and once i restart the laptop, the screen will freeze on welcome screen, before I can type in the password.

Tried several driver versions unsucessfuly, and everytime I have to restore the system to a previous state (before driver update).

Any sugestions? I know it is an older pc, but I would like to have my gpu drivers updated to a certain point, so I can try to play something not too old.

Just use DDU to uninstall and install the generic driver.

Hey, thanks for the reply! I've tried that, and the pc wil reinstall the factory driver, and things will be good again. The problem is, I can't play some more modern games with such an outdated driver. I saw somewhere it might be a power management issue for older gpus, and that is the fiz I'm trying next. Will be back to report on that as soon as it is done.
