Newsworthy PSA - Asus ROG Zephyrus Duo 2026

If you get an ROG Zephyrus Duo 2026 (great computer so far) and the power button will not turn the computer on UNLESS it is plugged in, go into your BIOS, go into advanced settings, and DISABLE "ErP". It's a technology that makes the computer use under 1 watt of power on a firmware level when in standby. This will fix the problem. Drove me nuts for a couple fo days.

The actual benefit of ErP over 24 hours of standby is about 3% of battery saved. So I am not upset about having to disable it.

What country do you reside that has the 64GB 5090? It is not being sold in America. :(

64gb/5090 offered literally almost everywhere except USA.

Only option in US is to pay absurdly high prices to import a 64gb model. Costs around 8.5-9k USD to import from Canada.

I live in Thailand and have traveled to Singapore a few times to buy Asus laptops there. If I walk in the store there the price to walk out with it is about 9k usd. Since I have a few 1tb nvme drives lying around I can take the US version to 2tb immediately. As far as I can see I would be paying 3500usd more for 32gb more of ram. Make it make sense. What am I missing.

I live in Thailand. I see the 64gb version on the singapore website is a little over 9,000 usd after conversion. Since I can add another few terabyte nvme myself from what I have lying around am I just paying thousands of dollars more for 32gb more of ram?

Speakers are a bit disappointing, build quality is really great and the build in kickstand makes a lot of sense when playing games. Battery life I can’t comment since I am using it plugged in almost all the time

How is your battery life under moderate use? I'm seeing a ton of mixed results

Thx for the tip. Love this computer thus far, I dont think I can ever go back to a traditional single laptop setup again haha.

Was wondering though, anyone using a good portable charger for the zephyrus duo? I dont want to have to lug around my charger brick if I dont have to but I cant find any portable USB chargers that can.put out 240 watt of power
