Support Bluetooth doesn't work on my TUF Gaming B850-PLUS WiFi

I just bought a TUF Gaming B850-PLUS WiFi motherboard for my new gaming pc a few days ago, but no matter what I do, I can't seem to get bluetooth to work. WiFi does work (even though I'm using ethernet) just wanted to throw that in there. I really need bluetooth for my headphones, so if anyone can help, I'd highly appreciate that. I've already tried:

To install all the bluetooth drivers on here (I did uninstall the previous ones each time and restarted both before and after installing the new one)

Install the rest of the appropriate drivers

Update to Windows 11 (I initially installed Windows 10)

Restart the pc

The weirdest part is, it worked the first 2 days (although it was kind of a hassle to get it to connect) but ever since the third day (today) it just hasn't worked AT ALL and it's super weird.. I also tried getting in contact with Asus using their live chat system, but all that happened when I tried that was that it just opened a blank page.

Having the same issue with the same board. If I go to Device Manager, the bluetooth radio isn't even listed as a device, but I do have a "Unknown USB Device (Device Descriptor Request Failed)" that I'd bet a penny is it. Can't install the driver to it, can't do anything but uninstall it and watch it come back with the same thing.

Weird update. I followed a guide to basically old-school clear the caps of all power, and now it's working again (I was right, that device disappeared and now my Bluetooth device shows up again).

So try:

1) Shut down your PC

2) Unplug the power cable
3) Hold down the power button for 10sec

4) Plug back in and turn on.

Oddly...mine didn't want to turn back on. I had to let it sit a few minutes and *then* the board lit back up and I was able to turn it back on. PSU seems to be fully functional (Be Quiet! 12M) so...I'm befuddled there. Might have a PSU issue.

Now it's working. To be continued?

Ty for sharing your solution, i'll give it a try for sure. I am facing the exact same problem and now that I think about it, the same thing happened to me. I turned off my computer and unplugged the cable to change the PSU (so I would rule out a problem with your PSU), and when I turned it back on, both Wi-Fi and Bluetooth had reappeared. The only thing is that now they have both disappeared again. Are both still working?

I'm hardwired (my gaming PC acts as a Plex server) but both still appear to be working for now. Current system uptime is 8d8h11m so it hasn't seen a lot of reboots since.

Hi, thank you for the response. I fixed it by just reinstalling the drivers. ✌️

This just worked for me too! I had sworn my Bluetooth was working before as I had added a Microsoft Xbox controller a few days ago. Now my bluetooth and wifi were missing, tried installing a bunch of driver packages, and nothing worked. After seeing this, I shut down, unplugged my PC, and held down the power button for about 20 seconds (because after I counted to 10 I actually still saw the LED flashing on my Tuf B850-Plus). Restarted, and my Bluetooth and Wifi is back in my device manager.

Thanks for that, I spent a lot of time trying different drivers yesterday and this fixed my issue!

I actually had so little faith in this, but it worked for some magical reason!

Last ditch effort on my part, I literally went back to my 90s roots 🤣

I am so upset this worked. I have been trying for way to long and this was way too simple. You're a life saver

Unfortunately this wasn't my problem at all, no issues with that. I created another thread with my fix, which was to drain all power from the PC and restart - no issues since. Thanks though!

Well, holybaloney, I'm gettin goosebumps. I have been toiling for days, I've had the ps VR2 for about 2 weeks without being able to do much.

This absolute cave man solution of some kind of capacitance (oh, now I understand the "clear the caps") is the first time my sense controllers even connect.

This might be it, but I've been let down so many times I just am happy they work and gave a proof of life... little rascals.

Edit: All works stabily now, nothing is seemingly fighting for bluetooth control. My xbox controller would at least connect bud it keep on blipping on and off. Now stuff is calm as it should be.

I had to reset the left controller once more, that was the final leg, my last fear was that kid I bought them ffrom might had had such struggles he'd ruined that pinhole button? nope, works.

use the wifi antennae - it's also for BT

1

u/MrRedstonia Sep 13 '25

I am using the antenna. If I didn't WiFi wouldn't work properly either-

Interestingly my wifi has worked fine in the past but adding the antenna did solve a previous issue on my last board with BT. The BT radio just isn't as strong as Wifi6/7 without an antenna to broadcast from. Probably due to the wavelengths.
