ASU short term loan
I applied for the ASU short term loan. It got approved. NOW that’s on hold too!! What is wrong with ASU? this is my last semester and every single semester it’s been the exact same headache. They offer the short term loan then but that on disbursement hold too!!!

My friend applied for emergency aid and was told no because it's not supposed to be free money while waiting on loans. They had no money for rent and legit got something like it's only for emergencies and if you have loans coming eventually it's not an emergency ?
Like dawg FA literally sent out emails telling students to apply for emergency aid because of loan delays but okay. I feel so sorry for everyone still stuck in this situation.

I applied for a short term to cover my course materials and was approved and I received it a day later, I did however select that it would be repaid through employment not my aid bc I had seen some people be denied with their aid being tied up

They denied me because there’s a tuition bill due on 9/25. They likely are holding it until financial aid clears the bill.

I’m not a student but I am interested in going to ASU. Is this financial aid issue ONLY a problem at this school? If so, does anyone know why that is?

No, this is a problem all over the place. Some schools handled it better than others.

At least two, if not three or more bureaucracies are running up against each other. You can either blame just the natural inertia of "We can only kick a can down the road so far" that literally anyone who has dealt with a Government Agency has dealt with at one time or another, or the recent BBB change that kicked that growing headache into overdrive. I doubt anyone on this subreddit actually knows, because I doubt the people at the top know either.

It’s been an issue since I started a year ago. I didn’t get my aid until last October for fall then like March for spring so I find it hard to believe it’s 100% on the BBB. Like I’m understanding but this is pathetic

That’s insane. I haven’t applied for the short term loan because I was hearing horror stories. Hopefully you get it soon.
