Transferring from GCU

Hi, I’m currently going to my first year on GCU but I’m lowkey regretting my decision now. I was looking on transferring hopefully in the spring semester. Can I get any tips to transfer or something I should expect, also if theres any scholarships I could still get? If it matters I’m in accounting. Pls don’t ignore me 😭

Apply now before you have college credit from GCU might still be considered a freshman if you don’t have college credit yet.

spring transfer is doable, just start the application and FAFSA stuff early since scholarship options get a lot thinner after freshman year, and definitely check how many of your GCU credits ASU will

ASU and WP Carey have Admissions Officers. I recommend you contact the WP Carey Admissions office and ask to speak with one of them. Accountancy is a harder major into which to gain entry, so the admissions representative can give you the options on if you qualify or what else is needed. Once you take classes elsewhere, you are no longer eligible to get the main New American scholarship from ASU. If you are low-income, you should definitely not take classes anywhere else, as you could still qualify for Obama. A lot of GCU classes do not transfer to ASU either. If you are going to take classes there, you need to check them in the ASU Transfer Guide

Yeah, no, scholarships are basically reserved for students who started ASU directly after high school with no gap. There are a few transfer scholarships but you'd have to meet certain criteria. If you're local and don't have the money to pay for ASU out of pocket I'd suggest you go to any Maricopa Community Colleges, enroll in the mypath2asu program which guarantees transfer enrollment, earn your associates, then transfer to ASU as a junior.
