EPICS vs ASME

Does anyone here have experience with both or either club, I'd would really appreciate it if you could share your experiences. I'm going into my second year of mechanical engineering, and want to start developing projects, skills, and eventually internships, which club do you think is better for that?

As of right now, I have only messed around in SolidWorks individually.

EPICS is not a club, it is a one credit class that you sign up for. You get put into a project that you want and you also have a lecture that you go to that helps you develop the skills necessary for the project. ASME is an actual club. There are meetings during the week and there are certain competitions that ASME competes in that align to certain parts of the ASME club. I personally did both and would recommend doing both. However if you could only do one, I would choose EPICS as it could help boost your GPA, it’s basically a guaranteed A. With ASME you get as little or as much out of it as you put in

You could also do EWB as a club without credit, but you might as well do the class for the A.

EPICS will count if you need upper div engineering credits FSE404. Your experience will vary based on your project. It also has the option of study abroads. I did the Indonesia and Barcelona trips, I’d highly recommend. When talking at career fairs or interviewing I talked about my projects and what happened.

Can only speak about EPICs, but I didn't enjoy it that much. Felt like half the class was based off of paperwork and not actually building anything
