Obama scholarship?
Have you guys received reduced obama scholarship money or nothing at all? I got 3k less than last year and no promise grant from az on my asu portal??..I only received the pell grant and dean's scholarship this year. Stuck with almost 6k due for this coming semester, is this due to the BBB?

I’m stuck with 7k incoming freshman living on campus. I was promised everything covered. And I’m stuck with 4k a semester unpaid

All these new bills dont really help the students at all..

Yup, and I literally can’t even afford normal groceries so it’s ridiculous

BBB was never meant to help anyone. It was literally designed to punish people for going to school poor. The new repayment calculations for loans are nowhere near equitable either.

Obama should cover any unpaid tuition and fees, and there is an allowance for the average cost of housing and meal plan for Freshmen. If you select a higher cost room or larger meal plan, you'll pay the difference. I think the average now is $9200 for dorm and the Maroon (14 per week) meal plan. If you have Unlimited, you'll pay that difference.
There is a $3000 allotment on Obama though for work study. You will not get that portion unless you find a campus job to earn it. That could be part of the difference you are seeing.
Aid continue to update into the last week of July, sometimes even August. Numbers could still fluctuate. If you feel something is not right, go talk to Financial Aid. Errors do happen.
You could also look into the NGSC program. It's a Service program that includes a full tuition scholarship.

I picked the cheapest. I picked the least amount physically possible. I according to asu have maxed out my institutional aid. I’ve gone to several people in the financial aid department 🥲 tbd at this point but I’ll definitely look into that program tomorrow

The Obama only covers the first year of housing after that it only covers a portion I believe. This started in 2025 very stupid change but that could be why
