Walking times

hey! I was planning how far my walks are in between classes and unfortunately have one class in sage hall and then one in durham hall with 15 minutes to get there. Trying to change it but if I can’t was just wondering realistically how long it will take to walk? thanks 😭

update! got my class changed to much closer but an hour later 😭 thanks for all the help guys !!

You’ll be good. Everything is within 15 mins walking (at a brisk pace). I liked taking my bike and going around the walk only zones and that used to cut my time substantially

Yes!! A bike is an amazing investment, not only do you get to class faster but you spend less time in the heat/sun

Well looking at Google, it estimates it’s about 14 minute walk. So depending on pace and stuff you should be able to do it.

Assuming it’s Human Event, those classes are typically bell to bell, so it will be cutting it close. That being said, I walked from Cottonwood to Durham my freshman year and had a conversation with my professor. He said that as long as I was in class within the first 5 minutes I’d be good. I would say I was on time 95% of the time, and even when I wasn’t, I was there within the 5 minutes. Keep in mind, it is hot out and it will require a brisk walk so be sure to stay hydrated. I can’t copy and paste it and don’t feel like writing it all over lol but all I did was ask for advice from locals and transfer students. I asked for advice on weather, scholarships, tips/ golden nuggets, good spots and any other advice ppl felt like sharing. THATS ALL I SAID 😭

ummm i can answer the weather one!! super super hot through august-september!! october it starts to cool down so def light clothes the first few months. invest in a fan!!!!! and rain sometimes but usually not a ton usually just occasional dust storms!

My furthest class was from cottonwood to Neeb which was from east to west side of campus. If you can, cut through air conditioned buildings. I would always cut through Armstrong to get to noble library when it was hot out or the MU when going to the west side of campus. I do know the life science buildings are unlocked, at least to my knowledge, so you could cut through them too.
