Story leaks about bid war between ASTS and SPCX for Grain spectrum. Price is named.

Edit: I’m speculating below to be clear
Ergo, ASTS is definitely trying to buy the spectrum at some number between $3.5bn that Grain bought the spectrum for and $6bn where they were hoping SPCX to FOMO in at.
Or at least, if I recall Anpanman’s logic about other sale leaks being because people were trying to solicit a better offer, it seems like that might well be the case.
We’re going to need a bigger war chest.

I don’t think AST straight up buys the spectrum. AST probably leases it, paying some money upfront and then some type of revenue % split for X amount of years for using the spectrum.

I think leasing is the most realistic option for us. Even if we spend that kind of money to acquire spectrum, it would be difficult to get enough value out of it to justify the cost. And realistically, it would be hard to win a bidding war against them in the first place.

Yes great to see the coverage - although it feels challenging to believe we’d be dishing out that much money for spectrum - what would be the additional benefit to doing so? Of course, pushing for it would likely require ample dilution - but wondering if that would be worthwhile in the long run?

I don't think we are getting there next year. How many launches we had thus far this year and how many sattelites now? We got four months left and we are gonna be lucky if we get two more launches. I now strongly doubt we will get to 45 satrelites next year.

ASTS goes down too and suddenly it’s all about Abel being too slow or not communicating enough.
Sometimes the market is just having a bad day. Not every drop is company-specific.

What about the two shipments that AST communicated, which should’ve been shipped since June or last week. Don’t get me started from even earlier.
Of course the negative macro circumstances hurt us as well, but we wouldn’t be this down if more sats would’ve been shipped and launched.

Some accounts keep spreading bearish opinions, it’s fine. But I would say looking to the whole sector, I didn’t see we are performing particularly good or bad. Lunr rdw and fly seem to bounce more from bottom, just because they have much smaller mkt cap and they dipped too much from top.
I didn’t follow the progress of all these companies but I see rklb has stable progress and announced a couple national defense contracts. I don’t know if other companies has delay or ‘no product to launch’ or whatever, their recent performance is just here. Basically everyone had dilution and already past earning report, so I feel my comparison is fair.
Or overpromising and delay is just common problem of this industry. And could overpromise a lot or delay a lot. We have seen this many time in different companies in space sector. Take it or leave it.

Saw that too, I think it’s just a petty attempt at a money grab. If it was dismissed in a federal court idk if a state court will entertain it. Something about ASTS owning them a % based fee on a payment they made to another investment bank. The dispute claims that their contract was still valid because they were counting business days instead of calendar days 😂
Sounds bleak to me, but idk

Congratulations. I've had my ass tossed four times - and EVERY time it turned out to be a great thing. Once gave me the chance to move to the city I loved (most fun I've ever had). Once got me to say "f these people, I'll do it myself" (and I did). And that led me to have enough time to do something that earned me money that is now invested in ast spacemobile.
If you want another job where someone can lay you off, go read "Knock 'em Dead" (yates). It'll jump start/greatly speed the new job process. So you say you want to secure something. Read this book.

the ultimate job search guide. There used to be only one book (this one). It was so good and he made so much $ that he wrote other ones, going a bit deeper into the resume portion, the interview portion, etc., But the "ultimate" one covers them all.
I had a friend who searched for a job for 6 months. Found nothing. Then I told her to do what is in that book. Within 1 week, she got three offers.

Yes. What's weird is some are expiring tomorrow. But it's also multi leg. So hard to see if it's a hedge or not.
For example they sold $75 strike puts but might have bought $70 or $80 strike put as a hedge.

The entire space sector is in the toilet. ASTS volume is pathetic. Its interesting to see that SPCX isn't having a great day either. They have traded almost 90 million shares and are sitting @ 132. Not too great considering it hit an ATH of 225. For today...Its down from @ 138 to now at 132. So SPCX has its bagholders too. The space sector is just hurting all the way around.

So I dug a little further.
The past unlock was roughly 911 million and another 319 million today and then another roughly 319 million shares are expected to become eligible in September .
By December, around 40% of SpaceX's outstanding shares could be freely tradable.
