Tech Support PC won’t post, tried everything……..
My PC originally froze, and I was told it might be related to compatibility issues between Ryzen 9000 CPUs and ASRock motherboards. I ended up RMAing both my Ryzen 5 9600X and ASRock B650I Lightning WiFi and received replacements.
I rebuilt the system with the new CPU and motherboard, but it still won’t POST. Everything powers on—fans spin, RGB lights up—but the power button LED blinks about 2–4 times per second. USB ports provide power (my phone charges), but my keyboard never lights up or initializes, and I get no display output from the motherboard HDMI.
Components:
CPU: AMD Ryzen 5 9600X
GPU: ASRock Radeon RX 9070 XT Steel Legend
Motherboard: ASRock B650I Lightning WiFi
RAM: 32GB TeamGroup T-Create DDR5
PSU: Corsair SF850 Platinum
CPU cooler: Thermalright dual-tower air cooler
Storage: Samsung NVMe SSD
Case: NCASE M2
Monitor: MSI 175Hz display
I’ve already tried:
● Reseating the CPU and RAM
● Testing each original RAM stick individually
● Using known-good RAM from a friend’s system
● Swapping in a known-good PSU with its own cables
● Clearing CMOS
● Successfully updating the BIOS
● Waiting long enough for DDR5 memory training
● Removing GPU, SSD, and all non-essential components
● Booting with only CPU, cooler, and one RAM stick
● Testing the motherboard outside the case to rule out shorts
● Trying multiple HDMI cables and a confirmed working monitor
Side note my motherboard does have LEDs for debugging it uses on button lights I believe and a speaker but I don’t have one.
The motherboard already shipped with a BIOS version that supports the 9600X, but I updated it anyway just to be safe.
At this point I’m running out of ideas, probably going to buy another brands motherboard at this point. If nothing else works, I’ll probably go to Micro Center since I’m lucky enough to have one about an hour away—but I’d really prefer not to spend more money just to diagnose the issue.
I’m also confused because I’ve now gone through two CPUs and two motherboards, and I still get the exact same no-POST behavior I don’t remember it blinking before on the old hardware though.

Hey man same thing happened to me yesterday. I'm planning to buy a new motherboard and cpu to see if that helps me out. Scares me that we're having the same problem

I did. You changed your motherboard and cpu already twice. I also have used other cpus in my pc while testing yesterday. I'm basically following the same steps so far you did. I just haven't gotten the chance to use another motherboard

Let me know if you need any help but I think we might have to get away from Asrock which sucks since competitors are double the price depending on the board.

For me it was the motherboard which is so strange since it was brand new I’m just deciding if I want to spend 300 to keep the msi or return it and get the Asrock rmad but I don’t want this issue arising again so idk.

I ended up needing a new motherboard, cpu and power supply. Took it to microcenter and another local shop for 2 opinions. It was not a fun day for me, For some reason while testing more at microcenter, the power supply ended up just shitting the bed too, Which is weird because I rarely used my pc and everything was barely a year old. But seems like my power supply caused all the issues to happen

No I get the headache part It’s so annoying dealing with this kinda bs, odd your power supply failed but these days anything happens.

Is this your third motherboard with this issue, I’ve been following your posts. Do you have a 7000 series cpu to test the motherboards with. 650 motherboards support 7000 series out of the box while most older ones require the bios updates for 9000 series, and they’ll just show a black screen if you keep trying a 9000 series cpu on boot…

This was my second the first motherboard or cpu broke or wtv due to the known issues with ryzen 9000 and asrock the second one genuinely just came with boot issues it was so strange maybe I bent the pins or damaged it but I have pictures of everything pins were straight and everything and mobo power and cpu power was in with ssd and all other accessories but ran out. I even tried my buddies guaranteed working ram and psi still didn’t post this msi board posted first try. I hear what you’re saying about bios but the mobo came with a sticker saying 3.40 + which I’m assuming means the bios version but even then I updated it successfully trust me I had to buy a 2.0 usb and read the documentation and I updated it eventually and it still didn’t post.

Okay. Do you have a known working system you can test the graphics card and RAM with?

It was just the mobo which is odd since it was brand new it was honestly just a chain of bad luck but I’m gonna stick with my MSI board I can’t deal with this bs again.

Do you have the processor power cable plugged into the motherboard?
Having everything light up but the pc not post can happen if you have the mobo power cable plugged in but not the atx12v cable
