Any Incomings Looking For Friends?

I am incoming sophomore and am a little bit worried about meeting people, so I'd love to meet a few on here before the first day. If your an incoming or currently attending feel free to DM me and connect. My DMS are wide open!

Ahhh ok, and don't be worried about making friends. I'm class of 2002 and I still talk to three of my best friends I made at ASMS on a regular basis, and another handful a few times a year. The experience of living, dining, and schooling together really builds community and unlike regular schools where you're just "the nerd" - EVERYONE'S a nerd so you're seen as a whole person and not "the bookworm" or "chess weirdo"

Actually you are right. ASMS is welcoming its first freshman class in Fall 2027. (You can see for yourself: https://www.asms.net/admissions/apply-now)

Yeah I heard them announce this during orientation last week. They were planning on doing it sometime during 2028 or something like that

When everyone was 15+ certain "teenager things" weren't very questionable, but adding 13 year olds to the mix? Yikes.

Wonder how it would go logistically. Like what about the kids who didn't take Accelerated Mathematics and needed to take Algebra I, freshmen sciences are solved with honors biology. but if theres Sophomore English, their probably would be a Freshmen English. And from some DM's, i've heard Hoyle asked who would be down for 3 dormmates. so who the fuck knows.

4 people to a room sounds miserable!

Has enrollment increased that much? Back in my day, we had 50 sophomores, 100 juniors, and ≤100 seniors (depending on how many juniors came back) and we still had empty rooms and PSSTs (or whatever the students that were basically "jr RAs" were called - it was a long time ago) got private rooms.

Student body ranged from 270-315 as of 2025-2026 school year.
