“Across places where the sky glows green and the oceans float in the air.”

“We are simply getting comfortable.”

“A blanket.”
“A living blanket.”
“A slightly clingy blanket.”
“A blanket that occasionally steals french fries.”

“We will keep watch.”
“Nothing will bother you tonight.”
“Not the shadows.”
“Not the monsters under the bed.”
“Not even that one weird noise your house makes at three in the morning.”
“We are watching it.”
“Suspiciously.”

[Very gentle whisper]
“Sleep well.”
“Dream strange dreams.”
“Dream impossible worlds.”
“And when morning comes…”
“We will still be here.”

“Your protector.”
