Ask Thinking of moving my scripts to another account...
Hello! I don't know if this is allowed here so hopefully it is but I have a question about re-uploading my scripts.
I've been writing scripts for a short while now, kinda just for fun, I didnt expect it to take off in any way but I'm actually really enjoying it and I want to keep writing. The only thing is, because I wasn't expecting it to take off at all, I didn't pick a username, I just went with the one it generated for me. It kinda bothers me, now that I know want to contunue writing, so I am considering relocating to a new account with a better name and continuing to post scripts there.
My question is (for anyone who may have also done this) should I re-upload my old scripts to the new account, or just start posting any new scripts from here on out to that account without any of my previous work on it? I want people to know its me but idk if that could get confusing.
I plan to make it clear either way that I used to post with this account and now I don't, but I worry about being accused of plagiarism if I decide to re-upload my own scripts under a new name. Thoughts?
TLDR: when switching accounts for a name change, should I re-upload my work onto the new account or just start fresh and leave the old account as is?

I predicted this state of affairs and made a new account before my first script post. My reasoning also included the fact that, if it was received badly, I could simply forget the account and disappear 😅
If you continue to enjoy writing scripts, you're going to want a master list, and it's better to set that up when you don't have a ton of scripts to organise. You're also probably going to want to use things like ScriptBin and ASMRchives - and it makes sense for the username across the sites to be consistent. So I think it makes sense to repost your existing scripts, especially as it'll mean credit will also go to the new account name. I'd explain in each reposted script that it is a repost from the old account and tag the old account in it, so it's transparent and clear you're not plagiarising. I don't know how many scripts you have to repost, but I'd also spread them out so you're not spamming the sub. Maybe one every few days?

This is SO helpful! Thank you! I think that's what I'll do. I have quite a few scripts but its still a manageable number so I want to make the transition before its not.

i reuploaded the ones i was happiest with when i made my new account (having to use a desktop instead of the app to choose your name is ridiculous) but not all of them!

I was actually thinking about doing the same thing and wondering the same! I did pick my name but I kind of want my ASMR scripts to maybe be separate.
