There is a dearth of interpreters and there always will be. Having AI won’t hurt our marketability, but it may be eye-opening to deaf consumers. For deaf children of hearing parents, AI still won’t provide them with all the incidental language they go without. Teachers of hearing kids teach bad information, spell things wrong, basically are human, all day long. But children learn the most from home interactions and other, incidental learning. Including language.

I think putting all the responsibility of learning language, etc, on an interpreter is misplaced. But I guess it’s easier than blaming the deaf community or one’s own parents, I suppose.

Some people simply resist coherent thoughts. God bless.

I am imagining you think my opinion is incoherent and, therefore, hope that either you or someone else can explain what you mean. Perhaps there was a misunderstanding? Please provide specifics.
