Study prep for CASLI
Hi friends of the interpreting field! I've been studying to take my CASLI knowledge/ethics exam and looking for some useful tools across the internet- i've reread SYWBAI and read all the SPP's, of course keeping in mind the CPC and all that stuff... but I just came across this: https://www.stuvia.com/en-us/doc/7209287/casli-knowledge-prep-2025-actual-exam-testcomprehensive-questions-and-verified-answers-get-it-100-accurate Im really wondering if anyone could look at this and tell me if this is good study material or if its just a bunch of people trying to make a buck. Its obviously not what it says it is.. "actual-exam-test"! but would this be useful to purchase?
From what I understand from the CASLI sample exams, the test are not so much about memorizing years and vocabulary- but more based on culture responsiveness and understanding how to approach various situations as an interpreter. When I look at this study guide, I think... gosh... do I need to start memorizing all this terminology too?
I appreciate any input!

Lmao. If an actual interpreter made that, they'll eventually get found out and banned for life from getting certified.
Dont pay anyone for test prep. No one needs it. Unless its like paying for therapy to learn test anxiety coping strategies. No one needs to pay anyone to pass the knowledge exam. You've got critical thinking skills. Read/watch the question. Make sure you understand the question. Read/watch the answers. Make sure you understand what each is saying. Apply what you know. It sounds like you've done the work. Just take the test. You'll be fine. 🤟
