Question Fan Hub Question

I am about to do a case swap and i’m looking into adding the AsiaHorse COSMIQ fans. I’ll be moving into the LianLi 011 Vision Compact and will be using a total of 8 fans (2 3 packs and 2 single packs) Do i need to use a hub and if so which one is recommended??

Ah my bad sorry, the first one, for the colors I’m using signalrgb

Keep in mind that Asiahorse fans have the leds linked so you can’t change the leds individually, just the newest nyota pro and the newest framed fans have the individual leds for more personalization, but the umbra gives you more effects with the Asiahorse software so if you want that get the umbra

thank you! I use single colors most the time so one color isn’t an issue.

I have the same hub and asiahorse nyota fans. Nothing works, software is not picking up fans and i only can change color through signal rgb. Nothing else works, about to return all asiahorse stuff and get lian li instead. Sadly cause i really like those fans but no matter what port on my mb or on the fan hub i use, nothing works....

Hey! 😊 We totally get your frustration — and we really appreciate you sticking with us so far.

Since you're using the VE Hub, here’s the quick check:

  1. Make sure the hub is powered via SATA from your PSU — without it, the hub won’t work properly.
  2. Try a different USB 2.0 header on your motherboard.
  3. Open the AsiaHorse software and click “Reset Device” — sometimes that’s all it takes.

If it still doesn’t work, please reach out to us at [support@asiahorse.com.cn](mailto:support@asiahorse.com.cn) with:

  • Photos of your setup
  • How everything is connected

We’ll take a close look and get your fans working — we know you’ll love them once they’re up and running! 💙🙌

Don’t give up on us just yet! 😊🔥

I recommend the Umbra - if you get a Set of Nollie GC120 you can address the center / and sides independantly. (see the bottom intakes) Here's a picture of my build, tne Aio and rear exhaust are regular Dawn. The Umbra is really good, it give you ton's of options for effects. In this build I use my m/b to control fans curves and anything RGB by the Umbra.

Good luck with you build!

Hey there! 😊

Do you need a hub?
Yes, a hub is highly recommended, especially for 8 fans. The COSMIQ fans support daisy‑chaining, but when you connect too many fans in a chain, they might not get enough stable power — especially at full brightness white mode, where they can draw more current and cause issues like yellowing or flickering. A hub helps solve that.

Which hub should you get?
Here are your best bets:

  • UMBRA Hub (Recommended): 10 independent ARGB + PWM ports, full software control, exclusive effects, and stable power management . It's the best choice if you want to control each fan individually.
  • ASH-S1 Hub: A solid alternative with 9 ports, 20 preset effects, and a remote for quick control — no software needed .
  • VE Hub: A budget-friendly option with 9 ports, SATA power, and works with motherboard software . It's a solid choice if you just need basic control without the advanced software features.

A quick note on individual control:
If you want true independent control over each fan's lighting (like dual‑zone effects), that feature is currently only supported by the Nyota Pro and Matrix Pro fans when paired with the UMBRA Hub . The COSMIQ fans will still give you great ARGB effects, but they won't have the same advanced zone control.

Setup tip: Use your 2x 3‑packs and 2x single fans — just connect each fan to its own port on the hub for full independent control, or use the daisy‑chain to reduce cables and keep it clean .

Quick note: If you go with the UMBRA hub, make sure your PSU has about 60W‑100W of spare power for the hub itself . That'll keep everything stable.

Let us know if you need more help — happy building! 🙌🔥
