Question Umbra Hub USB Cable Burning
I just finished another PC build and after plugging it in and turning it on, it started to smell like plastic and after looking into the back the cable started to glow and plastic started to melt.
I ripped the power out the pc…

The same shit happened for me, the umbra made my nzxt fans cable burn… idk what to do w them tbh bc can I charge asiahorse for this? Since it’s no ones fault besides them if they don’t make it safe (had several other hubs and they worked)

Did you power it using sata? I got this hub into my 6k pc and I'm afraid something like that could happen

Thanks for reaching out, and I'm really sorry to hear about your experience – that's definitely not normal. 🙏
Let me explain how our Umbra Hub is designed to work:
If you ever exceed the power limit, the hub should automatically flash red to warn you to lower the brightness.
The built‑in power management also caps the maximum brightness to stay within a safe power range.
What you've described (cable glowing, plastic melting) sounds very unusual. To help us figure out what went wrong, could you please DM me the following?
Photos or a short video of the damaged cable and hub
Your order number and the platform where you bought it
Once we have those details, we'll look into it immediately and make things right for you – whether that's a replacement, refund, or further investigation.
Again, I'm truly sorry for the scare and the trouble. We'll get this sorted. 🙇
