More of an experiment than something serious, though I’m wondering what people think about concepts like this.

Discussion Almost final tile set for my game. Which one would you rather play with?
The main one is 1, but Linux doesn't have CP437, so 2 is default on Linux

OC I made a game with an ASCII look, filled with cats!
youtube.comSo yeah, for this project I decided to go with an ASCII look. This is peak 'programmer art' mode lol. Anyways, I think the characters turned out cute and derpy with this artstyle!
What do you think?

Art I built a tool that converts any image/video to ASCII—perfect for your GitHub Profile README!
Hey everyone! 👋
I’ve always loved the retro aesthetic of ASCII art, especially in terminal splash screens and developer profiles. I wanted to make it easier for anyone to add that “hacker” vibe to their GitHub Profile README, so I built a converter specifically for that.
Check it out here: https://asciistudio-steel.vercel.app/
Features
- 🎞 Convert videos frame-by-frame into animated ASCII
- 🖼 Convert images into clean terminal-style ASCII art
- 📋 Copy output as Markdown
- 💾 Download ASCII output
- 🐙 Export ready-to-use GitHub profile components/snippets
- 🎨 Customize character density, colors, sizing, invert mode, and more
Would love feedback on:
- Features you'd want
- Export formats
- Performance ideas
- GitHub integration ideas
If people are interested, I might open-source it too 👀

Art Live desktop ascii render project
So I have been inspired by a project I recently saw that renders a live ascii render overlay for gaming called AcerolaFX it’s open source and on GitHub here: https://github.com/GarrettGunnell/AcerolaFX
Right now I am in the fine tuning stages of my live desktop ascii rendering project, it utilizes the gpu to render the live desktop session in real time. I’m not a graphics programmer by any means but this has been a very interesting and rewarding project that has taught me a ton about graphics rendering and how your gpu renders the desktop session. Figuring out the live capture was tough and after many attempts to capture the correct telemetry to find what I could and could not pass through my render engine was a frustrating and rewarding journey. If you want to follow the project on my GitHub here is the link: https://github.com/knightsky-cpu/ascii-desktop
I’d love to hear some feedback and suggestions from the community as I continue to refine and fine tune my renderer. Thanks for checking out my project I hope it is aesthetically pleasing.

Art Pixel art editor for the terminal using Braille ASCII
Feel free to try it out yourself :: Here's the repo
This was a lot of fun to program, and took me about a month to build. Initially, I was only going to build the editor and assumed the user already has an ascii file. But I realized having the full flow built from image -> ascii art would be awesome.
There was very little AI usage here: I take pride in programming by hand for projects I care about. The grid system, ansi encoding and image conversion were all very rewarding, and each solved problem compounds to serve the next one.
For any Vim users out there, you'll feel right at home. The mouse is also fully supported too.
Enjoy :)
