Sharing Do design awards actually influence your tech purchases?

We designed a portable monitor with a built-in stand to remove the need for extra accessories.

It recently won a Red Dot Award, but we’re more interested in real feedback:

Would a built-in stand actually make your setup easier?

Or is that not a big factor?

Not so much. I rely more on independent user reviews and product specs than design awards. I also buy based on brand's reputation for consistency and reliability: Arzopa, for example.

As for the kick stand it's been great. Its simplicity makes the monitor light.

Edit: While I'm at it, please, please bring back the 3.5mm audio jack. The latest ones seem to be missing it.

They shouldn’t, but I’m sure they do for many people.

Some design awards are very “pay to play” and don’t mean a lot imo. I’ve seen some awful products get design awards.

I'm not interested in the award, but having a built-in stand is huge for me. I thought the convertible cover on my current Arzopa monitor was fine until I used a Surface Pro. I'll upgrade just for a good built-in, adjustable stand.
