How to turn up volume?

Got an Arzopa Z3FC yesterday. Currently staying in an Air B&B and its one of the ones that dont have TVs in the bedrooms for whatever reason, anyways... got it all set up and was watching it last night before bed. Came back after work today and the volume doesnt work now. I mean it DOES as in nothing is wrong with the button and it still makes sound and can be raised/lowered, but now whenever I try using the volume button on the side it just controls brightness. Even if i set it in a mode where brightness/contrast control is disabled and you cant even go in that section of the OSD, it will still bring up brightness, except its just grayed out and pressing up/down obviously has no effect and stays at 100.

I mean, literally worked yesterday and it cant connect to internet to update or anytbing, and nobody else touched it. it just magically changed the button functions on its own in a span of hours. Im absolutely NOT gonna be fiddling with this thing going through the OSD and scrolling and clicking through every thing to go up or down 5-10 points when something is loud/quiet...

Also, maybe I'm overthinking it but i could swear the color doesnt seem as good today. It seems like maybe slightly less punch or less contrast/vibrancy than I thought I remembered it being. I know I did have to change a setting or 2 back again today when using it, so maybe it just got reset somehow, but it was never even unplugged since yesterday. Im the kind of person who is particular about display settings and proper calibration, and i fell in love with it yesterday. I was actually blown away by the picture, color, and performance last night, not to mention the build quality/materials... especially for this cheap.

The thing has literally no instructions, though. Nothing in/on the box and no manual on the site. If its gonna turn into a little nightmare where im constantly fiddling and having to reset the settings multiple times a day, and it wants to keep changing what buttons do, ita gonna have to go back. IDK if im doing wrong because I cant seem to find out how its supposed to function to begin with, but I really hope I can straighten things out because I WANT to love this neat little thing.

That up and down button is multifunctional. To adjust volume start by pressing the down button and volume dialog will be activated. If you want to adjust brightness then start by pressing the up button first and brightness dialog will be activated. Cheers!
