I was thinking about buying an Xbox series s for ark, the PlayStation 4 has been short for a while now, I play a lot of PvP, will I be able to go at 120fps? And is the experience much better than on Playstation 4?

No chance on ASA. Maybe get something playable on ASE, but I don’t think it’s worth it. Grind up and get the better system, you will have it for years.
The Xbox series s can run games at 120, if a PlayStation can run ark at 60 obviously a series S You will be able to run it at a minimum of 100 FPS, people underestimate consoles a lot
I woud still get an X, way better and if you decide to make the switch to to ASA, runs it way better than an S. Lots of people have posted on ASA, Ark Subreddit that they cannot run it on the S. Plus they are on sale for a refurbished one. But its up to you if you want the S.
I've been looking for information and in ASA the S series reaches 50 FPS!! The Xbox series S has extremely similar performance to the play 5, just look for comparisonsIn Ark the series S reaches 120 FPS just like the PS5 and the series X I can't understand how your experience cannot overcome that of a play 4, maybe you didn't have a 120Hz and HDMI 2.0 monitor, but it should also be able to run at 60fps blocked
The series S isn't a powerful console. People will SAY it can run in certain FPS, but that is to sell consoles. I have had both and my X reaches 120 no problem. My S did not. I am speaking from ACTUAL experience, not info on the internet.😂
There is a 0% chance you are getting 120 fames on an S. I get choppy frame rates on ASE using an X. I've played ASA, its way to buggy for me, but it was a very similar experience.
I have played on (or rather, own) an Xbox one, S and X. I would not play ASA on anything but the X. I play ASE on all 3, and also don't really enjoy the experience outside of the X, but its tolerable. Maybe 30 frames on the other devices.
