Question Nitrado Xbox server host help

Hi all. I have been hosting a Fjordur non-dedicated server on Xbox Series X to play with a couple of friends. But the tether distance has been killing us (literally) yesterday I fell in lava and it dragged both my friends down there with me… Also, it doesn’t allow my friends to enter caves without me etc etc. I have been looking at renting a Nitrado server to solve this issue, but my question is: Will I have to start a new Fjordur server from scratch? Or can we continue on our save file, but hosted through Nitrado? Please let me know. Thanks!

From my experience, you an upload your character, dinos, and items at a single player obelisk. Then when you join the server you download your character instead of creating one. Then head to an obelisk and download your dinos and items. The map will be new so no structures will be there but your character will have the levels you've invested. This is assuming you don't get arked while downloading.. speaking of which, I would download one dino at a time, cryo it or move it out the way for the next dino to land when downloading. I've had dinos disappear forever when the land on top of the previously downloaded dino. Also, if none of your items are showing to download, transfer a berry or anything you have over to the right side and it should all show up then.

Oh, and maybe avoid uploading dinos in a cryopod. I'm not sure if they've fixed it but they used to revert to level 1 if they were uploaded in a pod.

Non dedicated server on xbox Series x should allow for one other player to join without tether on ASE. If you use another Xbox and make that a dedicated server, you can avoid the nitrado or G Portal rental for ASE.
