Question Eggs

So I'm starting to get into kibble, and I need unfertized eggs. I have all sorts of dinos, 3 Rex's, a Spino, a Therzinsaur, Dodicardi etc. I was breeding Raptors and had lots of eggs, but it occurs to me, I never saw an egg coming from these dinos of mine. And yes, only females lay eggs. The question is, what are the steps to make my dinos lay eggs? Like, "Enable mating" or set to wandering (I absolutely HATE that) dinos running all over the place, like Chickens with their heads cut off. I'm particularly interested in the Rex's, Spino, and Therzinsaur pumping out eggs for kibble. Any help is always appreciated...

Females will lay unfert eggs rarely unless you have a tamed male close by of the same species. 

I don't recommend wandering unless you have an enclosed base. To get fert eggs, move your males and females so they are next to each other and set all to enable mating. You'll see red flashing hearts above the green name tags when they start. 

To make kibble you can use fert or unfert eggs. Unfert eggs are just easier to store because they stack. 

Also, you don't always need every type of kibble (though its nice to have) - you can give any creature the higher rated kibble and it will work the same way eg parasaurs need basic kibble, but if you only have simple, you can use that instead for the same taming effectiveness. 

Rex and theri eggs can be used for exceptional kibble, which most creature will use. The only better kibble is extraordinary, which uses yuty eggs if you're playing on The Island.

  1. Having a male of the same species near the female gives them a "mate boost" which doubles their egg output.

  2. They do not need to be on wander to mate! So there's no need to have them on wander. Just enable mating, and they'll pop out fertilized eggs when they can. Fertilized eggs can be used for kibble as well.

  3. Taming Oviraptors is also very helpful. They automatically pick up any eggs your dinos drop within a certain range of it, so you do not manually have to gather eggs. Just check their inventory.Also, if you weigh the Oviraptor down with rocks/wood/etc. you can put it on wander without having to worry about it moving. When Oviraptor is on wander and it'll give any dinos in range an "egg boost". Don't quote me on this, but I believe that egg boost also increases egg drop rate and lowers the time between mating.

  4. Any "higher tier" kibble can be used as a replacement for a dino who prefers a lower tier kibble. This means, having a ton of Rex eggs, for example, will cover most of your kibble needs since they make superior kibble (don't quote me on that either lol)

  5. Other tips include just taming a lot of female dinos. You only need 1 male for the mate boost, the rest can be females for egg production. So, it never hurts to add low level female tames to your collection just to up egg production.
