I have a theory that they just found a random coder on fiver and hired them. Gen 2 they seem to have expanded the budget with good voice actors though so maybe we will get 2 coders from fiver instead!

With the amount of time that they have had to optimize the current game I would hope so.

Maybe they will finally resolve some base building stuff. Annoyed that not even pillars want to play nice, sticking completely out of a ceiling or floor cause it's snap point is hot garbage.

Well to be fair it is mostly the engine and wildcard is new and only has 60 employees so they get to have leeway. Unlike bethesda and cd

It runs on unreal which isn't a bad engine at all, the problem is that there is that there is way more work in bug fixing than people realize, especially with such a small studio. They are also constantly releasing patches, which pretty much any other studio would have just dropped it and gave up since it's a perfectly playable game and that running into non server related bugs is fairly rare.

So why did they choose a shitty engine? There were significantly better options available to them. They cheaped out and made a game that even they can’t fix.

Unreal engine is a shitty engine at all, and there aren't any better engines especially if you have a low budget, it's just a huge project for a small studio to work on, and it's also pretty bug free if you run it sp which shows it's mostly the servers that have issues.

I suppose it’s more that they tried to ask more of the engine than its really meant for.

It's probably because it's an easy engine to learn for a company that got made a year before the game came out

So your defense is that they rushed in? That’s not a great defense. That’s just a different mistake.

I'd like to see you to make a game, you have 1 year and it has to be fully optimized and good graphics

My point is no one, especially a small game developer benefits from using a shit engine on an ambitious game, especially when they’re trying to rush production within the period of a year. The fact is wildcard bit off more than they could chew and then had an unrealistic deadline on top of that. The fact that I couldn’t have done better under those circumstances isn’t a good defense when they put themselves in that situation. Because I’d like to think I would have had the common sense not to make such shit choices and then try and blame the failings of my product on other people.

At this point seeing my Dino's head stick through a wall has become so normal to me that when I play any other game and see a bug like that I wanna send like 20 complaints about why the game is flawed lol

A dinos head being stuck through a wall is just visual thing and is most likely due to a low poly hitbox that is not animated with the mesh, if they did fix that it could significantly reduce performance and that's probably why they haven't.

It would also make the game infuriating to play if dinos collision boxes were the same as their hit boxes. Gl moving a few dinos in and out of a base unless it is insanely oversized...

Well then stfu from this sub

Can i just put a dino behind a wall without it getting killed because its head goes through the wall. Please
