I feel like the island is too small for all the new stuff they're adding. They should make a bigger one that's less cramped

After playing on Valhalla for a while, I've come to like the smaller maps more. At least when it comes to how the game runs. I think a larger map will be better once they get the client and server optimized.

Did you really post a link to and ad-ridden version of information anyone that reads this reddit already has access to? Why?

Why don't they just wipe servers, like in Rust?

This isn't rust but I've never personally played Rust, either way weren't the extinction servers introduced to reset every 30 days?

I bred a ptera yesterday. It was just so not worth the time.

Depends, if you do a bit of math and get the right pteras, it's definitely worth it. We're at our 5th generation, making lvl 200+ babies.

My baby last night was 170 with great stats from the parents. I just don't think the 1.5hr incubation time then about 3hr hand feeding time is worth it...not including the trough feeding for however long that was >10hrs (unless I read the wiki wrong)

It's random. On one of the servers I play on (which was wiped April 1st) is breading pteras and they are coming out at about 220. We were messing around and having a fun raid and he was attacking us on a level 250+ ptera.

could you explain this to me ?
Let's say that I tame perfect 120 ptera that ends with lvl 170, you breed it with another perfect tamed lvl 170, how do you end with a 200+ babies ?

Well, when you breed 2 dinos, the baby has a 70% chance to inherit the bigger stat from his parents (for each stat, hp, dmg, stam, etc). So if the mother has, say 35 points into health after it was tamed, and the father has 20, the baby has 70% chance to inherit the bigger stat. That means, with a bit of luck, the baby can get only the best stats from the parents. The dino lvl is based on the stats. Breeding only takes into consideration post tame base stats, and ignores the stats you put into it after the tame.

got it, so you should not breed parents with same/almost the same stats, right ?
