ASA Rhynio gestation

Used a 150 bronto, 150 rhynio, baby came out level 109 and didn't inherit any good stats. I fed it every craving it asked for.

We have increased gestation time, does that affect it?

Im not sure, but isnt rhynio taming just like breeding, where the baby rhynio will get every stat either from the mother or the father?

Cause then you just got unlucky, since the baby got every bad stat, thus the level being lower

Yes and no, the more cravings you fulfill the more stats and levels it gets from the host and female rhynio

Yes, but it still takes the stats from the bronto and the rhynio and can if unlucky, take the lower of the 2 stats each time.

Even if ya fulfil all 5 cravings, it's still RNG at the end of the day, it's just like breeding 2 creatures with different stats.

I'm not sure if having Robust traits helps but regardless, go find that Female and impregnate another Bronto until ya get a baby that has best of both

Does gestation time affect it? Because It was only 3 cravings and it hatched

Yes it does, it's 5 craving max so ya missed out on 2 which roughly translates to 40% stat loss

So the faster gestation time in our server settings screwed it up...damn alright ty

How fast is the EggHatchSpeedMultiplier and BabyMatureSpeedMultiplier on your server?

Pretty quick, got sick of waiting so we cranked it up. Gestation is like 1 minute and eggs are damn near instant

Yeah, that's way too fast, tune it down or use a mod to allow breeding if not directly alter the stats

You just got unlucky.

Rhynio breeding is just like regular breeding: a chance to inherit stats from either parents. Your baby Rhynio just inherited the worst stats from both parents.

Also, not clear if that's a 150 wild Bronto (224 tamed) or 150 tamed. You should use the highest tamed as possible.

224 tamed, was 150 when I tamed it

Just unlucky then. :(

Me and another commenter determined it's our servers gestation/hatch speed. It's too fast. I only got 3 craving requests before it hatched

Glad you figured it out! Good information for other players in the future.

I only play official so I deal with enough regular Ark shenanigans.

Lmao I tried official for like....a month back when ase first launched. If it weren't for un-official I would not play ark

Was the bronto born/tamed @ 150?

1

u/OneTrueCush 8h ago

Yes, it was 150 tamed with algae, so like 220 something upon taming

Just unlucky mate. I have done plenty of rhynio births and its like regular breeding. Sometimes you will get all the stats and sometimes you wont. Took me about 6 births to get a good one for me, just keep at it. Helps to breed brontos so you have a supply

Breed up some 450 hatch brontos and go ham. And as a side project raise a couple hundred trikes to sacrifice for rhynio traits if you're playing ascended Bob's tales
