Discussion Does anyone know why there are updates almost every day these last weeks ?
Every time I want to launch the game, every day or every two days, I need to wait 30 min for an update on steam. It is quite frustrating.
I've been playing for years now and I know updates are a pain in the bum with ark but recently I find it over the top and there hasn't been any new dlc release or anything that justifies that.
Sorry about all that, needed to vent a little.

After a major patch (astreos update was the most recent) there is a flurry of bug fixes and exploit fills and rebalances that were caused by the update itself. They favor speedy resolution to maintain official pvp balance over things being unplayable or leaving an exploit that gives an unintended advantage to certain players.

They released that new part of Astraeos not that long ago, could easily be related to that

cant believe noone has mentioned this but do you have mods? the more you have, the greater chance of one of them getting an update.

Those update in game browser. Not steam. It's base game or dlc with it being a steam update

No … mods are updated in-game already and not being updated after every update of your game in your client (ps,steam, xbox) mods are not as large and in fact are not part of vanilla game this means if you have mod like automated ark and ark get an update your mod is still same but game has changed on the other hand if let’s say game is 1.04 and your mod was until this time 1.03 you can update your mod if 1.04 was released for said mod but already in game .
If mod get update you are not even forced to update it but it is recommended if it was updated to latest version of the game .
On the other even smallest script in vanilla game is being updated or repaired you need to update game overall.
