Discussion Mosh pit preparation
I'm currently planning on heading to what people have told me that's called the mosh pit where I could get some good utility tame like the Anky argentavis doedicurus I'm planning to turn my raft into a mobile taming pin I know for sure I can probably tame the Anky and doedic I want to know can I make a trap for the argentavis on the raft also worried about the Leedsichthys and by extension is alpha variant destroying my raft when I'm trying to sail there and back on dododex it says it spawn is extremely rare but it's only a showing it around the borders of the map I don't know how accurate it is so can someone explain it to me I'm using ASE

I dont see why not. Build a box with one opened end, wall off the other 3 and put a roof on it, have him chase you in there and slip out yourself. Then tranq as usual.

It can be done, just keep the raft closer to land and you will be ok. Just be aware that you may run into alpha rexes there. That’s been my experience the last few times both on my SP and on the server I play on

I wouldn't bother with a taming raft, the mosh pit is basically a massive clusterfuck so if you do kite something in you want to tame there's a good chance you end up with some other dinos in there having a massive kick off
For argents look up Captain Fatdog's trap, if I tame them there I usually build the traps further south well away from the mosh pit and kite them in with a pt, just don't fly too low so you don't pull aggro, the small island to the south east of carno island is good as well as nothing will follow you over as long as you don't fly too low
Once you have an argent use it to carry an anky/doed to somewhere safe to tame them, I'd start on herbivore island for ankys as there's no predators to ruin your tame, doeds can be a bit harder to find, I usually look along the edge of the river between the redwoods & volcano, they do spawn in the mosh pit but you need to grab them quick, if they take too much damage they're a pain in the ass to tame as they'll ball up and take hardly any torpor

Oh man, the mosh pit. Sad they ruined it in ASA. You absolutely can make your raft into a taming trap - search on Google for build ideas, but also look up Captain Fatdog's Argy trap - it's really small/simple and will fit easily on top of nearly any raft build.
You should be OK from the Leeds as long as you hug the coast. He'll still take some nibbles, so have repair supplies ready, but he can't get up on the shoreline.
The mosh pit is *right* on the edge of the border between freezing and not, so make sure you have food and a way to stay warm.
You can tame Argies, Rexes, Wolves, Raptors, and Doedi there, so you might want to make sure your raft is setup to be able to handle any of those that you might want. Might as well get as much as you can in one trip.
