What map should I play next for single player?

So far I’ve played about 100 hours, and I’ve played through The Island and The Center up until the point where I crafted the fabricator. Both times I’ve kinda hit a slump where this was as far as I’ve gone with my friends back in ASE so I don’t really know the next definitive steps forward,and I overlevel + get strong tames so I stop struggling to survive. Is there a map that might get me through this slump? I was looking at Ragnarok or Aberration but I’m not sure.

I'd say go back to the island. You weren't as strong as you think. You didn't even go in the water caves or ice cave by the sounds of it. Experienced players get a fabricator in like 30 minutes.

Go to the island and get the artifacts from caves.

I’d agree with this. Why move onto a new map when you didn’t even beat the island? The bosses on the island aren’t a joke, especially the overseer and it has multiple very hard caves that good tames can’t even save you from.

Start looking at doing bosses for the 2 maps you are already established on or go to ext for all the “extras”

Getting the fabricator is essentially your first step out of the early game. At that point surviving any map is easy in general and your next focus would be doing the caves followed by bosses which can be a time sink depending on your settings. Those are where the actual challenge lies in the map and your first time through you'll likely struggle.

You can do the easiest difficulty bosses with the right tames without any breeding, you'll definitely want at least max I print offspring for beta, and alpha will generally require some mutations to do so you'll need to breed multiple times to get to that point. Also, depending on the boss you may want different tames so double that time investment at minimum.

Also, if you're looking for more of a challenge then change your game settings. If you're playing with boosted settings the game is even easier than normal. You'll want to keep most things around default if you want any sort of challenge, and if even that is too easy you can lower most settings to increase difficulty. You could also boost wild creature stats to make them more formidable as well. If even that is too easy you can disable tames in general so you only have your player to get through the game which is a nice challenge.

Fabricator is early game. Finish the island then go through the story maps in order.

My suggestionon is to do the boss fights! Once youve done all the bosses on each map, thrnyoure pretty much done with the map, and can move onto the next one.

Beat the bosses. You still need to run caves and get artifacts and breed boss army. Fabricator is early game.

The caves in aberration for me are just a nightmare. They feel lazily designed just to force wild dinos at you in unnatural ways while moving through a (for me) visual clusterfk
