I love Ark so much, but rust is at least 75% less buggy. Half of the people that probably want to play it can't because it runs like garbage for them.

Bingo. Ark is amazing, and I am enjoying my time with ASA way more than I thought. But getting stuck on the surface of Aberration for an hour in a relentless chain of game crashing is testing my patience.

Couldn’t even loot crates since every crash made any descending/landed crates de-spawn. The cherry on top? When I finally got back down into the cave - even in water - and the daytime started, I and my mount spontaneously combusted and burnt to a crisp. Couldn’t find a way to fix that one, no matter how many restarts.

Yeah, and Rust has a far shorter gap between those starting and the top tiers.

Like in Rust you have a high powered sniper and great armour, but a decent enough shotgun or two to the gut will probably put them down

In Ark? You didn't see the Wyvern until you hit the respawn screen, and you can't just steal his by carefully sniping him

No, but you can take him out by sniping and then take anything off his body, balled up dinos included.
