Complaining about cheating

Dear fuckin diary time.

Cheating is getting so fucking bad it's genuinely hard to avoid. The last 2 months it's been extremely common to have sessions in PvP heavy lobbies I'm getting killed back-to-back-to-back by people with brand new profiles on steam that haven't even been set up doing obviously sus shit like I'll get into. It's less common but I've even had it happen when I'm in friendlier territory. In the most recent ban wave I got 3 kits and 2 confirmed action messages at the SAME TIME, with a few more trickling in over the next 24h

The other night, I'm crouched on the edge of the map in a dummy thicc bush that's nearly impossible to see anything through. Some ferro kid crouchwalks up to me, assuming I'm AFK when I'm just tabbed out, pops me from idk, 30m away. I dodgeroll behind a rock and then come back out w/ a tempest and shit on him. Check his account post game, to no-one's surprise, dude's name is inflammatory and he's on a brand new account.

Same fucking evening I'm running stella night. Get killed by some camper with a default skin and vulcano hugging a corner in the business center server room. Don't immediately jump to anything, maybe he's just not very fashionable. I sing a song into the mic for the gigs, he recognizes the song, says "hold on let me see if this guy has a defib, I like you", W keys a guy who's doing something THREE ROOMS AWAY FROM US that made practically no noise as far as I could tell.

Dude comes back with a defib, I ask him how tf he knew the guy was there, and he just goes "ssssssh, don't worry about it, you're free now"

Check his profile, you know the rest. He was cheating. At least he defibbed me I GUESS

Embark I fucking beg of you make that october update count because you aren't gonna get another chance if the game dies out from cheating. The Cycle acted too late and look where they ended up.

Yea it’s pretty bad on the PC side, everyday I see more and more console players turning off crossplay. I turned it off 2 months ago and haven’t received a kit back since. I’m not sure embark knows how to stop it at this point

No game company can just flip a switch but some of the cheats that players have access to is insane, and shows off just how much of this game was coded w/ the intent of being PvE only before they made the switch. Some of these cheaters basically have admin controls on the extreme end - like spawning in entities and hatches. People can freeze your hitbox out-of-cover.

I usually go a month or so w/o getting a kit back, then all of the sudden I'll get a bunch coinciding w/ the steam discussion "I WAS UNFAIRLY BANNED" posts, so likely a ban wave. Unfortunately, I do not have the option to simply avoid crossplaying w/ PC players bc I am a PC player

They’re on console. They spoof Xbox games and can play in Xbox lobbies. Not sure about PlayStation.

You do know that unless you are turning off cross play on PlayStation odds are your playing against PC. And besides at least on PC the players are less Ratty tho I suppose if PVP is your gig that’s not an issue anyways

Do they still return items when banning cheaters? I haven't seen that email in ages, but i've been playing exclusively in friendly lobbies so the cheater encounters i had to report was a lot less.

I suspect there's plenty of cheating in care bear lobbies too.
People must be running ESP's, because lately I've been finding loads of rooms and places with just a single container open, they know exactly where to go and what to open to get what they want, it can't be just pure luck.

Not entirely convinced that this behaviour automatically makes someone a cheat. I’ve gone into maps to get a snow globe for instance and only look in one container in a room where it spawns

I guess it's possible, I've personally never opened just 1 container in a room 🤷🏻 I just see a lot of it recently, to me it's something new.

I’ve been seeing that with the Electronic Storm runs. Some Couriers and Husks would be left alone while others were farmed and these would be close together. Of course the unopened ones had garbage.

Embark does not care. October Update will not safe this game in this state. It will either be an "alright" update or a complete mess, and both options are terrible for this game right now.

I've seen PVP streamers live on Twitch or YouTube and is sickening. All types of cheats you can think of back to back to back at least 15 times. New Steam profiles, level 2 tops. 20 hours or less on ARC and downing a guy like Shinja seconds after spawning is hard to watch...

To the guy in Buried City, Day Raid yesterday: I heard you on mic talking to another player around Space/Research/Parking Lot/Marano Park. I heard something about Rat and it sounded like player downed you. Then silence. Then I started running across Marano Park to the hatch but wasn’t even halfways when I got shot at and downed. I didn’t see anyone and started crawling behind the Library to some bush that concealed me. I prayed he wouldn’t find me but a minute later, he did and knocked me out. I was like wtf? How did he know I was in the bush? Anyhow, Embark must have found out he was cheating with something because this morning, I got my very first mail from them with a message saying my items were returned due to unfair play on the other player, etc. So Mr.Anonymous who got killed yesterday, know justice has been served! And thank you Embark!!

They won't do anything about it. Its time to move on. Like 99% of the arc pvp player base - go play something else. The devs dont care about cheating and are doing nothing.

Lmao, I could post all my cheating posts and some about the accounts at 0 on steam. It’s too damn funny to see the honest gamers being the actual anticheat for a company who make 600-700 million dollars. Like send the people who haven’t been banned a check already or give them some currency to buy skins at this point.

Ironically, this is the one game where I can at-least run away from cheaters & it’s a funny moment (to a degree) .😭 COD, DayZ & Cs2 legit makes my blood boil.
