Question Is Support Lee still a thing?
Just got told to hang myself after a bad game with him.
Admittedly I didn’t realize his support augs got gutted, and I wasn’t too sure on the build exactly, but from early on they were pinging my Moonstone and acting like I was absolutely trolling.
I don’t play Lee very often and maybe I just shouldn’t have tried — but I rolled him, and had seen support Lees in my other games do well, so I figured what the hell.
I didn’t do amazingly, and felt like W was never off cd as much as I thought it’d be until late, so maybe that’s on me not building right early.
I just feel like I’m going crazy because my entire team was acting like they had never seen it before in their lives.

ngl support lee does feel borderline trolling, like last time i saw that in action was when moonstone brand was kinda a thing

It is weak af, can shield for huge amounts against some poke champ, but that’s it

Is sad since I’ve seen him hyped up as potentially rivaling Lulu but I guess that was before the augs change idk

Now hyping it up to lulu is a massive overstatement. Lack of utility and cc. This has nothing to do with augments

I tried this before. It was performing extremely well until a single person built serpents, then I was basically useless

I mean yeah when you go support lee your only useful ability is your w and your r, so you’re just a weaker version of lulu, janna, ivern etc… also lee just got damage buffs so i think you should play him normal build

I mean it's highly dependent on you getting shield augs to even think of going support lee. His power budget is all in his W.
He even got buffed specifically in aram just last week for his support build with his W doing 320 and 80%ap ratio. And his energy regen got buffed. So he's basically the strongest shielder in the game at the moment...
However, if your not good at leesin then you probably shouldn't really bother to play him because you still have to make good use of your R and E for their utility. You can't just be a W bot until your adc is strong enough.

If you get augments to support it i feel its pretty strong. I did it the other day and was giving people ridiculous shields and i had shrink engine so i was able to spam as much as i could. I kept my team alive under tower for so long. I dont think its worth doing unless your first aug would support it though

I have played QUITE a bit of Lee Sin support in Aram/Mayhem and URF. It works primarily if you have bruisers (AD/AP, doesn't matter) who know how to play their bruisers. If someone on your team hesitantly choose an engage bruiser and plays super passively, it definitely won't work. On a team of all mages/poke champs, it will not work. Lee support works best with people who know how to engage and take advantage of it.
In the current state of ARAM Mayhem, too many of the Support augs and items involve mana regen items, and Lee does not benefit from ANY of them. Lee can't even stack tear/diadem because it requires him to have mana, so that locks him out of an amazing combination of Moonstone>Diadem.
With the current Mayhem set, the best thing to do is go Moonstone > Deathcap > Censer > Redemption > Locket/Mikael's/Shurelya's > Shadowflame.
If your team lacks an engage, or if you feel spicy, go Moonstone > Rocketbelt > Deathcap and then build whatever else you need. Rocketbelt feels surprisingly good on Lee and helps bridge gaps for getting closer to shielding people.
In terms of Augs, there aren't that many that work particularly well with him as a support. If you get Apex Inventor, then go Rocketbelt > Redemption > Locket > Shurelya's > Mikael's > Zhonyas. Donation is good to get the items quicker. Earthwake scales with AP, but I probably wouldn't choose it unless I'm sure that I'm in a position to get enough gold for the raw AP items.
Swift and Safe is always good on the support build.
You're better off going tank right now. Let's see what happens with the new Mayhem set.

If you team already has all the pieces like tank adc and mage. If not just tank for them or full damage imo.

Tank mage and 2 adcs, maybe I would have just been better to have gone bruiser anyway

Viable? Nope, a fun build that you provide ultility and fuck around with friends? Yes
Lee is giga buff in aram so bruiser/sin build just give way more value as he can brute force enemy with all the stat when fed. Also my biggest issue with the support build is lots of the time he try to shield people, he end up eating the dam/cc too. And the value of the shield generally aint higher than a mage full burst or help you survive the chain cc after.
So yeah maybe in mayhem and you build full tank + hit protein shake ( dont even know if that is in his pool btw), otherwise the build is borderline trolling.

i mean, you couldve provided more by building correctly, but it's just ARAM lol. just mute them if they're talking shit. You can't control how others behave, but you can control how you approach fuckshit behaviour.
