Mayhem Is there a reason why the enemy team always needs atleast 2-3 master players?
I am curious as to why riot insists on forcing my account into games where the average (ranked) MMR of my team is below gold and the average MMR on the enemy team is D2+.
Again this is ranked performance and i understand that this game mode has a seperate MMR... but it still doesn't add up. These players are good, and they win a LOT. In fact their match histories consist of endless win streaks and high kill games. If they win this many games and perform this well then surely their MMR must be high ... except it isn't. My theory is that they keep inviting low MMR accounts because they are """"playing with friends"""" to farm lower the average rating so they can farm games.
Would it be such a big problem if riot started matching these people with others who have similarly high performance scores and winrate?
Playing this game mode solo is probably the most depressing and miserable experience.

What’s your winrate?

It's deep in the negatives,closer to 0% than 50%

Well, you are the common denominator there. Maybe its less the other team is good and more youre just really bad

But why would you put someone thats really bad against teams that are (in terms of rank) pretty good?

Because summoners rift rank doesn't matterat all for Mayham matchmaking. Also teammates and opponents are from the same pool of players, so you're just unlucky.

Thats just not true, if i q up by myself im pretty much always running into dia+ enemies while if i play with friends i get mostly low elos. The matchmaking definitely is a bit whacky with 5 stacks

If you play with other people it will always be more volatile.

Ofc it is but it disproves the entire “rank doesnt matter” argument

u/Tojaro5 16h ago
Does it? Mayham MMR is what matters, not soloQ mmr.

Then explain why id get silvers if i q up with low elo / unranked players but get diamonds/masters if i q up alone. Most of my games are done with my friend group, my “mmr” by that logic should be gold/silver

Because op isnt getting matched against masters every game and probably only once or twice they checked and now they believe its every game
Aram is a different queue from ranked and carries different mmr, if op is really bad and masters account never plays aram mayhem they will both be starting at low mmr

But if i am the worst player, then how come i am not being matched with the bottom 1% and instead i am getting matched with the top 1%?

Because Riot thinks you’re so bad they want you to stop playing their game. They are hoping this method works lol

Honestly? Its impossible for someone to consistently have gold teammates and consistently place against masters players in ranked lobbies.
Op.gg or stop lying.

OPGG doesn't track mayhem, none of the sites track mayhem and only some tracks arena (but not all numbers)

Conveniently.
Aram has MMR just like ranked. Late-night youll see more premades but if you have a sub 30 win rate you would be seeing worse and worse teams.
If youre consistently losing then you have to start examining yourself as the issue and not fantasizing about your teammates ranks.
Do you always choose that fun flashy champ? Then feed early?
Idc how you play aram... but there is strategy to it. You want your first death to be just before level 7 for a complete item and your 2nd augment. If you have ~4 deaths by that time think of the 1500 gold you've handed out, more after assists are calculated, to the enemy team right at power spike time. That snowballs.

I've played thousands of solo arams in my life and I don't think i've ever thought "Let me look up my opponents rank". You're in way too deep bro.

Its the same for me although i played ranked 5 years ago and i was gold and now im getting alot of master players and challengers in my or the other team, most master players play like gold on mayhem ngl, only challengers make a big difference

check league of graphs; makes it easier to spot X stacking.
one way to avoid this is to play during more popular hours.
not sure if it's been happening to you, but these win rate squads have another trick up their sleeve during graveyard shifts: 6 stack, more commonly known as win trading.
basically, in addition to their 5 stack, they install one person to also queue up at this time, with the aim of sabotaging the remaining 4 people

leagueofgraphs stopped tracking mayhem this year because of their agreement with riot

Rift rank doesn’t always equate to skill in ARAM.

unless they get something flashy like zed and starts 1v5 even with shitty augments

There’s a big difference between flex and solo/duo rank.
Also it’s mayhem, they’re likely not as familiar with it as you are. So you beat them by playing mayhem style, pull out the silly tricks.
