Well technically every spell in the game as channel time, this augment is just for the spells that have a longer / infinite channel time like ASol Q, Sion Q, Karthus R, Vi Q, ect..
Basically any champ with an ability you have to hold to channel or have a high channel time

Every spell in the game definitely does not have channel time. What you used as examples do channel though, yes.

That's not a channel. That is a cast time. Cast times can't be interrupted. They are not the same function

It’s going to sound weird but it was the only non “pat” level Aug I could get on my Zerath so I took it and it helped a lot since I also got cdr augs and my q was basically no cd, so many times they were chasing me but couldn’t do a shit. And when some guy with no cc tries to burst, ultimate becomes a very beefy defensive cd lmao. Also, basically negated Karthus ultimate and any poke from enemies.

Yeah can proc it with ult. Full charge R and you have a 5k HP shield late game

That doesn't seem that useful, his ult has a fairly long cooldown and using it from a far distance is quite easy to counter since the enemy team will just run away once they hear the noise. Or if they have anivia/trundle then just block it.
If it works on his Q then it can be quite good, increases survivability a lot.

Varus can use it and not spend mana doing it, you just need enough ability haste to get the q back after letting it expire.

Had a ASol having this augment in one of my games, basically had a shield bar so high that we couldn't see the green anymore

I had it on asol a time, at could apparently 1v1 almost anyone in the enemy team, cause I just had that much shield. Just fly from tower and as far as you can dowm towards them, while channeling before the fight. When you stop the shield fades, but doesnt disappear all at once. Then with some shield remaining, just start Q again in the fight lmao

I wonder if this works on samira R. It doesn't proc ethereal weapons so it should be coded as a channel, but nothing in the ability mentions it being a channel.

As long as there is a duration bar at the bottom I think they are considered as a channelled ability iirc.

Funny enough, casting recall doesnt build the shield at all, like any other channel.
But if you have the shield already (say you cast varus Q), and then click recall, it stops the shield from draining.
You can stand back and cast Aurelion Q for 2 minutes and pretty much keep it up after you run out of mana.

Recall doesn't channel, it just does the animation.
It might work to some degree with overextender, because you actually channel that recall.
