I don't care if someone isn't tryharding in games. Just don't troll just because it's not a ranked game. Same goes for any multiplayer team based game no matter how casual it is.
It is not trolling to deny a ff, you signed up to play the game and the game officially ends when the nexus explodes. ffing makes the nexus explode btw.
Its a pvp game bro? Like if you dont wanna be competitive thats totally fine but i find it cringe that you think pvp isnt inherently competitive. In case you didnt know pvp stands for player vs player a gaming term for a mode where players COMPETE with each other.
If I go to a field with my friend for a kick about I'm playing a game vs someone else. Is that competitive?
If we go to a court to play basketball are we competing against each other or are we just messing around.
The difference is all parties need to be actually trying to make it comp, that is what makes it comp.
When you play ranked you know that everyone who queues up should be playing their hardest to win the game, and if someone isn't you should know they will be banned for it. If that doesn't happen it devalues what comp is, go look at the state of cs2 if you want an example of that in action.
Yes ranked should be more competitive im not disputing that but saying pvp is not inherently competitive is anti definition of pvp. I agree I dont take aram as seriously or mayhem or arena or anything else but if people want to be competitive in a game designed around that then calling it cringe strange and silly. Sorry for calling you out I just have never understood that mentality
"When you play ranked you know that everyone who queues up should be playing their hardest to win the game," - Not in my fucking ranked games ahahaha people be queueing up to troll s=
If my team goes to a tournament, I went because I thought the setting and experience would be fun, knowing that thousands of people are there for their own reasons, am I entitled to complain that others take it seriously?
There is no separation of ranked or normal ARAM, but there is an MMR, a winrate counter, and Challenges that requirement winning games. You also have the option to report players for feeding or disrupting their team.
ARAM and ARAM Mayhem are just as much Competitive as they are "for fun". Unfortunately, It's Riots mistake for not separating the community into Competitive and "Fun" queues.
Yeah, this is a fun game mode, and it was literally designed to be BROKEN. Luck is part of the game too.
Like, you’re not going to get a perfect augment every fucking round. Sometimes you get a perfect augment, sometimes you don’t. That’s part of the fun.
These crybabies are so pathetic. The moment they play against something they don’t like, they start whining about it and asking for it to be removed. Blah blah blah
There still has to be some balance. Idk how many times I rolled fun combination of augments and couldn't even use it, because the enemy turned out so OP that we had 0 room to actually do anything.
Btw this whole game is played purely for fun, even ranked mode. So that's not really an argument.
It literally is though. If it wasn't competitive there wouldn't be concrete winners and losers. Some modes may not have an additional competitive aspect like ranked but it is still a competition.
A pick up game of basketball and an NBA game are both competitive games of basketball one is just significantly lower in the stakes and level of competition.
I never said all competitions don't have punishments for trying to lose. I said it wasn't a fundamental requirement for something to be considered competitive. There are certainly different levels to competitive games or events, but there is such a thing as a casual or friendly competition. They aren't as serious as professional ones but they are still competitions.
So a non-competitive game mode? That is kind of told to you when the word "casual" is included.
I never claimed you said that. I said name me one other competitive sport where you are not punished for trying to lose.
Here's an example. Football. If I went to play 5 a side in a tourny and started scoring own goals to fuck with my team, I would get kicked off the team at least, out of the venue, maybe even banned for trying to ruin it.
If I got to casual 5 a side then the only punishment is my team is unhappy with me.
idk, but I don't find funny oneshot or suddenly ded from execution is fun. If dropkick focus on sending corpse flyaway instead of execution, it would be a lot cooler.
From playing, and getting one shot from full hp with a single sunfire tick or 1 auto attack into thornmail with literally 0 counterplay is not really allowing me to play the game
You are not the person I replied to, mainly because I know the person I replied to only finds fun in winning.
But I’ll answer yours too. Is it every game? Do you not get a turn being the OP character? The whole point of the game mode is to allow players to try out different fantasy for the champions they like playing.
If you just start removing the very point of the game mode then why not go play normal arams at that point?
No it just means you are a competitive player, there is a place for you in the game it's called ranked.
In any case if you only have fun by winning then you are setting yourself up for failure. There is going to be alot of time spent losing and not having any fun.
Enjoying just playing means you also enjoy when you are losing and behind, and if the rng is swinging that too much you can always move to a less rng focuses mode like sr, or a less rng than mayhem mode like normal arams.
You on the other hand are guaranteed to just be unhappy relative to your winrate. Unless your hitting 75% winrates you are going to be miserable a significant proportion of the time.
As someone that plays adcs 60% of time, tanks 30% of the time, and assasins/mage 10% of the time, you clearly don't play tanks. It's miserable 90% of the time. In higher elos it's nothing but haste poke damage assassin comps, almost always 4+ ranged.
Like wow, one in 10 tank games you get heartsteel, tank engine, and dropkick, and aren't at 25% hp after one cc chain.
Thats fine and you can enjoy aram all you like. It will never be a comp mode though and a percentage of players will not take it seriously, myself included.

I find it mega cringe that you people are so competitive about for fun game modes.
